Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) professional to lead and support EU deployment projects. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SAP GTS functionalities, EU customs processes, and regulatory compliance. This role involves working closely with business stakeholders to design, configure, and implement SAP GTS solutions tailored to European Union requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead SAP GTS implementation and deployment projects across EU regions.
  • Collaborate with business teams to gather requirements and ensure compliance with EU trade regulations.
  • Configure and integrate SAP GTS with customs self-filing systems such as:
  • AGS (Netherlands)
  • ATLAS (Germany)
  • EMCS (Excise Movement and Control System)
  • NCTS (New Computerized Transit System)
  • Ensure smooth handling of customs declarations, excise duties, and transit processes.
  • Provide guidance on EU regulatory requirements and trade compliance best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues during deployment and post-go-live support.
  • Train and mentor junior consultants and business users.
  • Support upgrades and enhancements, including SAP GTS E4H migration.


Required Qualifications:

  • 8–10 years of hands-on SAP GTS experience, including design, configuration, and deployment.
  • Proven track record of EU-specific GTS implementations.
  • Strong knowledge of EU customs regulations, excise processes, and transit systems.
  • Experience with customs self-filing authorities (AGS, ATLAS, DMS) and related systems (EMCS, NCTS).
  • Ability to work closely with business teams and translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with integration to ECC & SAP S/4HANA.
  • Knowledge of global trade compliance trends and automation tools.
  • Experience with SAP GTS E4H upgrade projects.

Job Description:


1. Solution Design & Functional Leadership

  • Drive global SAP FI and Indirect Tax solutions from a functional design perspective.
  • Lead S/4HANA Tax solutions for Tax interfaces, with Global Next & Enterprise Cloud Determination
  • Conduct design lead sessions and coordinate with peer SMEs.
  • Partner with Project Managers for solution design and effort estimation.
  • Contribute to and supervise development of functional specifications from a technical design perspective.
  • Design and oversee development of reports, interfaces, enhancements, and forms of varying complexity.
  • Perform prototyping to support requirements definition and design validation.

 

2. Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Process Experts, SMEs, and Product Managers to streamline Tax L&F requirements.
  • Gather stakeholder requirements and translate them into functional solutions.
  • Work closely with Design Leads and Delivery Leads to ensure new capabilities are applied effectively.
  • Coordinate with Change Management and Release Management teams; collaborate via Azure DevOps.
  • Manage batch job scheduling, period-end activities, and coordinate cross scrums, Direct and Tax teams.

 

3. Quality Assurance & Testing

  • Perform quality assessments and peer reviews.
  • Execute unit and integration testing, support user acceptance testing.
  • Resolve defects during test cycles and provide post-go-live support.
  • Create and review cutover activities and run books for operational readiness.

 

4. Support & Compliance

  • Assist in resolving production issues with Support teams.
  • Prepare audit and compliance reporting requirements.

 

Skills & Experience:

 

  • Core Expertise
  • 10+ year's experience in SAP / S4 end to end implementation projects.
  • 5+ year's experience in ECC to S/4HANA transformation projects.
  • 5+ Years experience in Global Next & OITD Private Cloud / Enterprise Cloud projects.

SAP PAPM

Job Description (JD): SAP PaPM

Scope Overview

The scope of SAP PaPM for the purpose of this SoW covers six use cases, specifically:

IT‑TP, IT‑SE, Asset Capitalization, FTP, AE, and NOC Poland.

The activities below enumerate the scope for each of the six use cases across the build, test, and deploy phases.


Activities & Responsibilities

1. Data Sourcing

  • Sourcing of:
  • Transaction data
  • Allocation keys (drivers)
  • Data needed for allocation key calculation
  • BTP Development team would be responsible for using BTP IS to read the files and store them in PaPM tables
  • Deloitte PaPM Team will be responsible to read the data and perform the calculations


2. Data Harmonization

  • Data quality verification, harmonization, and template‑based enrichment prior to central processing rules
  • Data quality issues would be identified as part of the implementation


3. Core Logic Modelling

  • IT‑TP, IT‑SE, Asset Capitalization, FTP, AE, and NOC Poland models as per Business Design Document


4. Traceability Reports

  • Data output configuration within SAP PaPM
  • Transparency reports explaining movements within SAP PaPM
  • Development of reports or queries in SAP PaPM


5. Accounting Derivation

  • Creation of accounting derivation rules table within PaPM for posting back from SAP PaPM
  • PaPM postings to S/4
  • Usage of PaPM remote function adapter


6. User Groups Configuration

  • PaPM user group definition
  • PaPM function assignment to PaPM user groups
  • Roles and respective authorizations are not in the signed‑off business design document


7. Test (SIT)

  • Unit testing
  • Defect correction
  • Creation of test cases


8. DEV > UAT Transports Preparation

  • Preparation of transports for Development and Test environments


9. User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

  • User acceptance testing support of up to 4–5 weeks
  • Defect correction
  • Test cases created by Deloitte for Unit testing and SIT could be used as the basis for UAT
  • UAT for each module would be planned in the project plan


10. PROD Transports Preparation

  • Preparation of transports
  • Governance team has provided approval


11. Documentation

  • Technical documentation of all logic performed in SAP PaPM


12. Hypercare

Post go‑live application management support for the first month‑end period after go‑live, limited in time and effort to the following activities:

  • Defect corrections
  • Error or performance troubleshooting
  • Change management fine‑tuning
  • Punctual user assistance
