Your work profile:

 The Director of Technology will play a critical role in leading and scaling our engineering team while directly contributing to the architecture, design, and development of our full-stack applications. This leadership role is ideal for a senior technologist with deep full-stack development knowledge who also thrives in strategic planning, team leadership, and process optimization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive our technology strategy, improve product quality, and ensure scalability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Strategy: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, ensuring high performance and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Technical Vision & Architecture: Own and evolve the technical architecture and full-stack development strategy for current and future projects. Lead design discussions, implement best practices, and establish scalable, maintainable solutions.
  • Hands-on Development: Be involved in high-level coding and troubleshooting across the entire stack (Frontend, Backend, Database, DevOps). You’ll lead by example in writing high-quality, clean code.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other leaders across the company to align engineering efforts with company goals.
  • Process Improvement: Define, implement, and continuously improve development processes, including Agile methodologies, code reviews, and automated testing.
  • Technology Leadership: Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovations. Advocate for adoption of modern tools, languages, and frameworks.
  • Scalability & Performance: Ensure systems are designed for scale, reliability, and efficiency while meeting the company’s needs for security and performance.
  • Team Development: Support recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of new team members. Drive professional development opportunities for engineers.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular updates to executive leadership and other stakeholders on technology initiatives, progress, and challenges.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: 15+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with 5+ years in a leadership role. Experience working in a full-stack environment is required.
  • Full-Stack Expertise: Strong experience with front-end technologies (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js), back-end technologies (e.g., Node.js, Python, Ruby on Rails, Java, .NET), and databases (SQL/NoSQL).
  • Architecture: Proven experience designing scalable, maintainable, and secure architectures for web and mobile applications.
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • DevOps: Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
