About the Role 

Deloitte Japan is seeking a high-performing Senior Consultant to support our Technology Strategy & Transformation team. This role provides the opportunity to work with leading organisations across financial services, insurance, manufacturing, healthcare, telecommunications, and public sector industries to define and deliver complex technology and business transformations. 

As a Senior Consultant, you will work directly with Japan base project teams, executive stakeholders, technology leaders, and business teams to design future-state technology strategies, operating models, transformation roadmaps, and investment cases that enable organisations to achieve their strategic objectives. 

The successful candidate will combine strong analytical capabilities with exceptional communication skills and the ability to work effectively in both Japanese and English business environments. 

Key Responsibilities 

Technology Strategy & Transformation 

  • Support enterprise technology strategies aligned with business objectives and growth ambitions. 

  • Assess current-state IT capabilities and define future-state technology roadmaps. 

  • Support large-scale digital, cloud, data, cyber, and IT transformation programmes. 

  • Conduct technology landscape assessments and identify opportunities for optimisation and modernisation. 

  • Advise CIOs and senior executives on technology investment priorities and transformation initiatives. 

Ideal candidate would have experience in one or more of the following areas: 

  

IT Operating Model Design 

  • Design and implement target operating models for IT organisations. 

  • Define governance structures, decision rights, accountability frameworks, and organisational models. 

  • Support operating model transformation initiatives, including shared services, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), and sourcing strategies. 

  • Develop service management, portfolio management, and delivery governance frameworks. 

Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering 

  • Facilitate workshops with business and technology stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate business requirements. 

  • Translate business needs into actionable technology and transformation initiatives. 

  • Conduct stakeholder interviews and business process assessments. 

  • Prepare business requirements documents, process maps, operating procedures, and governance documentation. 

Business Case Development 

  • Build business cases and financial models to support strategic investments and transformation programmes. 

  • Develop cost-benefit analyses, ROI assessments, and investment recommendations. 

  • Support executive presentations and investment committee approvals. 

  • Quantify transformation value and track benefits realisation. 

Project Delivery & Stakeholder Management 

  • Manage workstreams within large transformation programmes. 

  • Engage with senior client stakeholders including CIOs, CTOs, business executives, and programme sponsors. 

  • Prepare executive-level presentations and deliver workshops. 

  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to capability development. 

  • Support proposal development and business development activities. 

Required Qualifications 

Experience 

  • 4-8 years of experience in management consulting, technology consulting, technology strategy, IT transformation, or a related field. 

  • Proven experience delivering technology and business transformation engagements. 

  • Experience working with senior stakeholders and executive leadership teams. 

  • Experience in one or more industries such as Financial Services, Insurance, Manufacturing, Telecommunications, Healthcare, or Public Sector. 

  • Japanese language is mandatory

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience supporting CIO advisory engagements. 

  • Experience in IT strategy, enterprise architecture, cloud transformation, or operating model transformation. 

  • Knowledge of Agile delivery, product operating models, or DevSecOps. 

  • Experience with Global Capability Centre (GCC) strategies and operating models. 

  • Experience supporting M&A, post-merger integration, or large-scale organisational transformations. 

  • Familiarity with emerging technologies including AI, Generative AI, Automation, and Advanced Analytics. 

  • Professional certifications such as: 

  • PMP 

  • Scrum Master 

  • TOGAF 

  • ITIL 

  • COBIT 

  • Cloud Certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP)
