Position: Junior UI/UX Developer
About the Programme:
The National Insight Center for Education (NICE), Ministry of Education initiative aims to build a centralized analytics and decision-support platform that consolidates data across national education programmes, giving senior government leadership real-time performance visibility and driving data-informed policy for 50L+ learners annually.
About the Role:
The role involves supporting end-to-end UI/UX design and front-end development for enterprise applications, contributing to and maintaining design system components, collaborating closely with senior designers, product and engineering teams, and leveraging AI-assisted tools to accelerate research, ideation and prototyping.
Key Roles and Responsibility:
1. UI/UX Design Support: Assist in the UX design process for enterprise applications, including workflow analysis, wireframing, high-fidelity design and interactive prototyping, under the guidance of senior designers.
2. Front-End Implementation: Translate approved designs into responsive, user-friendly interfaces, and build clean, reusable, and maintainable front-end code using React and related technologies.
3. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with product owners, business analysts, developers and cross-functional stakeholders to understand business requirements and support the delivery of intuitive user experiences.
4. Design Systems and Developer Handoff: Contribute to and maintain reusable design system components, ensuring consistency, accessibility and a smooth handoff between design and development.
5. AI-Assisted Design Workflows: Use AI-powered tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, DeepSeek and Figma AI to accelerate research synthesis, ideation, content creation, documentation and rapid prototyping.
6. Learning and Best Practices: Actively learn UX best practices from senior team members, participate in usability testing and research activities, and grow toward greater design ownership over time.
Qualifications:
• Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Design or a related field
• Preferred: Hands-on experience building responsive, user-facing web applications, ideally in agile environments
Experience (Preferred):
1. 2+ years of experience in front-end web development, UI implementation, or related UI/UX work
2. Working knowledge of wireframing and prototyping tools (Figma, XD or equivalent), and hands-on experience with React, Redux, and responsive UI development
3. Familiarity with human-centred design methods (design thinking, usability testing, personas)
4. Exposure to AI-assisted tools (ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, DeepSeek, Figma AI, Gamma)
5. Experience collaborating with product and engineering teams, working with RESTful APIs and CRUD-based systems in agile/Jira environments
