Role: Associate Director – Azure Infrastructure
Role Summary
We are seeking a seasoned leader to drive enterprise-scale Azure platform strategy, governance, and engineering excellence. This role combines strategic vision with deep technical expertise to deliver secure, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud platforms while enabling business outcomes.

Work You’ll Do
- Define and execute Azure platform strategy aligned with business priorities
- Develop and maintain a multi-year cloud roadmap
- Standardize governance frameworks across business units
- Drive Infrastructure-as-Code-first adoption with reusable patterns
- Establish reliability, performance, and cost optimization KPIs
- Enhance observability with actionable insights and operational runbooks
- Build and mentor high-performing cloud engineering teams
Key Responsibilities
- Own Azure platform strategy, reference architectures, and governance across multiple subscriptions
- Implement and scale Azure Landing Zones, management groups, Azure Policy, and RBAC
- Define standards for networking, identity, security, and connectivity (hub-and-spoke, private endpoints)
- Lead Infrastructure-as-Code adoption using Terraform, Bicep/ARM, and Ansible
- Enable self-service platforms with standardized templates and guardrails
- Establish SRE practices (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets) and resilience engineering
- Define observability strategy using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights
- Embed security-by-design in collaboration with risk and compliance teams
- Drive continuous compliance and remediation strategies
- Lead FinOps initiatives including cost optimization, chargeback models, and ROI tracking
- Manage large-scale Azure programs, including risks, dependencies, and executive reporting
- Collaborate with business leaders to align cloud initiatives with business outcomes
- Build and mentor teams of architects, engineers, and SREs
- Manage vendor relationships and evaluate emerging Azure capabilities
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
- Master’s degree (MBA / M.Tech or equivalent) preferred
- Industry certifications in Azure, Cloud Architecture, or Security strongly preferred
Required Skills & Experience
- 12–15+ years of experience in cloud/infrastructure leadership roles
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure architecture, governance, and operations
- Proven expertise in Azure Landing Zones, Infrastructure as Code, and platform automation
- Strong knowledge of networking, identity management, and cloud security
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, Bicep/ARM, and automation (PowerShell/Python)
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure delivery
- Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills
- Proven track record of delivering measurable business outcomes (cost, reliability, speed)
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Additional certifications in Azure Administration or Security Engineering
- Experience leading Agile/DevOps and platform transformation initiatives
- Strong leadership experience across global, cross-functional teams
