Role Summary

The ABAP Developer – Consultant will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting SAP custom programs across modules like MM, SD, FI, PP, HCM, PM, EWM and S/4HANA. The role requires strong hands-on coding, debugging, performance optimization, and integration knowledge with flexibility to collaborate with Functional, Basis, Testing and Business teams. The consultant must deliver high-quality, scalable solutions aligned to SAP standards and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

🔹 Design & Development

Develop and enhance ABAP programs including Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms (RICEF).
Build Object-Oriented ABAP applications and reusable frameworks.
Develop OData services, CDS Views & extend S/4HANA standard objects.
Implement user exits, BAdIs, Enhancements, Implicit/Explicit enhancements.

🔹 Integration & Performance

Work with interfaces – IDoc, BAPI, RFC, Proxy, SOAP/REST APIs.
Optimize code performance using SQL trace, runtime analysis & memory management.
Integrate with Fiori/UI5, CPI, Workflow and 3rd party applications.

🔹 Testing & Delivery

Prepare technical specifications (TSD), mapping documents & unit test scripts.
Conduct unit testing, support SIT/UAT, defect resolution & documentation.
Adhere to transport management, release cycles & code governance workflows.

🔹 Support & Collaboration

Debug critical issues & provide timely resolutions in Production/Support.
Collaborate with functional consultants to translate business requirements.
Participate in Agile ceremonies—stand-ups, sprint demos, planning.
