Role Summary
The SAP ABAP & Integration Developer (Consultant) is responsible for building, enhancing, and optimizing SAP technical solutions across ABAP, interfaces, integrations, and extension frameworks. The role involves working closely with functional consultants, business stakeholders, and technical architects to deliver scalable developments across ECC / S4HANA systems and connected platforms. This includes ABAP programming, OData/API development, CDS views, BAPIs, enhancements, PI/CPI integrations, and performance tuning for high-quality delivery.
Key Responsibilities
1. ABAP Development
-
Design, develop, test, and deploy ABAP-based custom objects including Reports, Interfaces, Enhancements, Forms & Workflows (RICEFW).

Build CDS views, AMDP, ABAP OO, BADIs, Function Modules & Enhancement frameworks.
-
Develop and modify Smartforms/Adobe Forms, BDC, User Exits, BTEs & Business Workflow(s).

Optimize ABAP code performance & debug issues across modules (MM, SD, FI, PP, HCM etc).
2. SAP Integration Development
-
Build and maintain SAP system integrations using PI/PO, CPI, IDocs, RFC, Web Services & OData.

Design middleware flows, troubleshoot message queues, mapping, adapters & interface monitoring.

Develop end-to-end API/OData services for SAP and non-SAP connectivity requirements.

Work with integration platforms to enable B2B/B2G connectivity with vendors/partners.
3. Technical Solutioning & Delivery
-
Participate in requirement workshops, fit-gap sessions & technical design documentation.
-
Translate functional specifications into technical specs and robust development logic.
-
Perform unit testing, support SIT/UAT, maintain TR transport landscape & deployment quality.

Analyze and resolve production issues, performance bottlenecks & integration failures.
4. Collaboration & Client Support
-
Work with cross-functional functional teams to align design with business outcomes.
-
Communicate clearly with clients on development progress, risks & technical clarifications.
-
Support go-live cutover activities, hypercare and AMS support cycles where required.

Contribute to reusable code libraries & development accelerators.
Required Skills & Experience
-
3–8+ years of experience in SAP ABAP development with integration exposure.
-
Hands-on experience in RICEFW, ABAP OO, CDS Views, AMDP, Core Data Services.
-
Practical experience with IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs, Web Services, OData Development.
-
Expertise in at least one middleware: PI/PO / SAP CPI / SAP Integration Suite.
-
Strong debugging, performance optimization & technical issue resolution skills.

Experience across at least one E2E implementation / rollout / upgrade project.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Exposure to S/4HANA conversions (Brownfield/Greenfield).

Understanding of RAP, CAP, UI5/Fiori development is a plus.

Experience with GIT, DevOps pipelines, agile delivery frameworks.

SAP ABAP or Integration Certification (advantage not mandatory).
