Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated OMS Functional Consultant to support the implementation and enhancement of Order Management Systems in an omnichannel environment. The role involves working closely with business and technology teams to translate requirements, support configuration, and ensure smooth delivery of OMS capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Requirement Gathering & Documentation
- Assist in gathering and documenting business and functional requirements
- Support creation of BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and process flows
- Participate in workshops and requirement discussions with stakeholders
2. Functional Support & Configuration
- Support configuration of OMS platforms (e.g., IBM Sterling OMS, Manhattan OMS)
- Assist in defining business rules for order orchestration, sourcing, and fulfillment
- Work with technical teams to validate configurations and implementations
3. Process Understanding & Improvement
- Develop understanding of end-to-end order lifecycle (order capture to fulfillment and returns)
- Support As-Is and To-Be process documentation
- Identify basic process improvement opportunities
4. Testing & Defect Management
- Prepare test cases and execute SIT/UAT testing
- Log, track, and help resolve defects in coordination with developers
- Ensure delivered functionality aligns with business expectations
5. Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work with senior consultants, architects, and business teams
- Provide regular updates on assigned tasks and progress
- Support demos, walkthroughs, and documentation sharing
Required Skills & Experience
Core Experience
- 3–6 years of experience in Order Management / Supply Chain / E-commerce domain
- Exposure to OMS platforms (e.g., IBM Sterling OMS, Manhattan OMS)
- Basic understanding of order lifecycle and fulfillment processes
Functional Skills
- Knowledge of requirement documentation (BRD, FRD, user stories)
- Understanding of OMS concepts such as order capture, sourcing, allocation, and returns
- Familiarity with omnichannel concepts is a plus
Technical Awareness
- Basic understanding of APIs and system integrations
- Experience with tools like JIRA, Confluence
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in retail, CPG, or e-commerce domain
- Prior consulting or client-facing exposure (preferred)
- Relevant certifications or training in OMS platforms (nice to have)
