Your work profile

We are looking for experienced D365 F&O Supply Chain Management (SCM) Consultants to work on implementation, enhancement, and support projects. The candidate will be responsible for understanding business requirements, configuring D365 F&O, preparing functional documentation, supporting testing, and working closely with business and technical teams.

The Senior Consultant will additionally be expected to independently handle functional workstreams, lead workshops, analyse complex requirements, and guide junior consultants.

Key Responsibilities

1. Requirement Gathering & Business Analysis

• Understand business processes and gather functional requirements from stakeholders.
• Participate in requirement-gathering workshops and process discussions.
• Analyse existing business processes and identify gaps with standard D365 F&O functionality.
• Prepare process flows, requirement documents, and functional solution proposals.
• Provide recommendations based on D365 F&O standard functionality and best practices.

3. Functional Design & Documentation

• Prepare Functional Design Documents (FDD).
• Prepare functional specifications for customizations and integrations.
• Define business rules, validations, calculations, and expected system behaviour.
• Prepare configuration documents and process documentation.
• Maintain functional documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

4. Testing

• Prepare functional test cases and test scenarios.
• Execute unit testing and functional testing.
• Support System Integration Testing (SIT).
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Analyze and document defects.
• Coordinate with developers for defect resolution.
• Perform regression testing after fixes and enhancements.

5. Data Migration & Integration

• Support data migration activities using D365 F&O Data Management Framework (DMF).
• Work with data entities for master and transactional data migration.
• Validate migrated data and resolve functional data issues.
• Support integrations between D365 F&O and external applications.
• Prepare functional mapping documents and integration requirements.
• Coordinate with technical teams for integration development and testing.

6. Implementation & Support

• Participate in D365 F&O implementation projects.
• Support configuration, testing, data migration, cutover, and go-live activities.
• Analyse production issues and provide functional solutions.
• Support users during UAT and post-go-live/hypercare.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement using standard D365 F&O capabilities.

Key skills required

In addition to the above responsibilities, a Senior Consultant should be able to:

• Independently manage an SCM functional workstream.
• Lead functional requirement workshops.
• Perform detailed fit-gap analysis.
• Design end-to-end SCM solutions.
• Review functional requirements and FDDs prepared by consultants.
• Coordinate with developers and integration teams.
• Analyse complex functional issues and provide solutions.
• Guide and mentor junior consultants.
• Support project planning, estimation, and task allocation for assigned activities.
• Communicate functional risks, dependencies, and issues to the project team.
• Conduct solution walkthroughs and knowledge-transfer sessions.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations SCM with 4+years of relevant experience.
• Good understanding of end-to-end Supply Chain processes.
• Hands-on experience in D365 F&O configuration.
• Strong knowledge of Procurement & Sourcing and Inventory Management.
• Knowledge of Warehouse Management and/or Production Control is preferred.
• Understanding of Master Planning/MRP is preferred.
• Experience with D365 F&O workflows.
• Experience with DMF and data entities.
• Ability to prepare FDDs and functional documentation.
• Good understanding of integrations and functional data mapping.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in AX 2012 R2/R3 (not mandatory) & D365 F&O.
• Experience with Advanced Warehouse Management.
• Experience with Manufacturing and Production Control.
• Experience with Master Planning/MRP.
• Experience with EDI and third-party integrations.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps and LCS.
• Experience in Manufacturing, Retail, FMCG, Jewellery, or Distribution industries.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or a related discipline.
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O certification is preferred.
