Private Cloud | Run / SRE / Ops/ SDDC Hiring – Job Descriptions & Interview Guide Private Cloud Engineer (3–5 Years Experience) Role: Associate / L2 Engineer Role Summary Hands-on delivery engineer responsible for implementation, configuration, and operations of Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) and Private Cloud platforms. Works on build, migration, and support activities across compute, storage, virtualization, and backup. Key Responsibilities • Deploy and configure hypervisors and virtualization clusters • Install and manage VMware/Nutanix environments • Provision VMs, templates, networks, and storage • Perform OS installation and patching (Linux/Windows) • Support backup, restore, and DR drills • Execute L2 troubleshooting and incident resolution • Support cloud migrations and workload onboarding • Maintain documentation, SOPs, and runbooks Required Skills • Strong fundamentals in: o Virtualization (VMware/Nutanix) o Storage (SAN/NAS/HCI) o Networking basics (VLAN, routing, firewall concepts) o Linux/Windows OS admin • Basic scripting (PowerShell/Bash/Python) • Understanding of backup tools (Veeam/Commvault/etc.) • Exposure to containers/Kubernetes/OpenShift (preferred) Experience • 3–5 years infrastructure/virtualization experience • At least 2 years hands-on with Private Cloud/SDDC Certifications (Good to have) • VCP / Nutanix NCA / RHCSA
