Job Title: Consultant –Finance Systems Support (TM1)

Location: Bangalore

Experience Required: 2 to 5 years’ experience in Finance Systems Management (TM1 preferred)

Job Summary:

The Senior Consultant – TM1 will be responsible for ongoing maintenance, data integrity, and operational support of TM1 modules. This role involves receiving and implementing attribute updates, performing data reconciliations and integrity checks, and handling business-as-usual mapping activities. Additionally, the role supports monthly financial cycles by executing soft and hard closes of TM1 modules and assists in generating limited ad hoc SQL extracts and reports to meet internal reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, experience with TM1 administration, and a working knowledge of SQL and financial data workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

1. TM1 Attribute & Dimension Maintenance

• Receive and process updates for attributes in TM1 modules.
• Perform updates and ongoing maintenance to ensure data consistency.
• Administer and update Business Unit and Entity dimension hierarchies in TM1.
• Implement and validate periodic rate updates (cost, forex, tax etc.) in coordination with Finance and business stakeholders.

1. Data Integrity & Reconciliation

• Analyse variances based on the reconciliation reports generated through the system and take appropriate actions for resolution.
• Conduct regular reconciliations between TM1 and source systems and investigate and resolve data discrepancies or anomalies.
• Perform integrity checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of data.

1. Mapping Activities

• Maintain and update mapping tables as part of routine activities based on proactive checks and requests received from the business.
• Validate updates with relevant teams before deployment.
• Keep project mapping up-to-date.

1. Month-End Close Activities

• Coordinate with Finance teams to align close schedules and notify business users about the month end activities start and end time along with the month end checklist.
• Publish daily dashboards and communications for efficient processing of month end activities.
• Execute soft and hard close processes for TM1 modules.
• Validate completeness of data before closing periods

1. Reporting & Data Extraction

• Provide limited ad hoc reports and data extracts using SQL.
• Support finance and business teams with one-off reporting needs.
• Ensure data security and confidentiality in extracts.

1. Issue Triage and Support

• Perform initial analysis and triage of TM1 issues
• Identify root causes and resolve minor issues independently.
• Escalate unresolved or system-level issues to the managed services team.

1. Support new finance systems’ projects and upgrades

• Obtain understanding of new systems being implemented.
• Provide SME support to ensure accurate design of future state.
• Test the system improvements requested.
• Perform test cases provided during UAT.
• Maintain accurate documentation of processes, mappings, and updates.
• Identify opportunities to streamline and automate TM1 administrative tasks.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

·      3-5 years of experience in planning tool administration, financial systems support or data management role.

• Basic to intermediate proficiency in SQL for running queries and generating data extracts.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

·      Proficiency in TM1 (cube maintenance, attribute updates, data loading, rule writing)

• Familiarity with data mapping, hierarchies
• Strong understanding of data reconciliation, integrity checks and issue resolution.
