Your work profile
1. Cloud Infrastructure Support
- Assist in provisioning, configuring, and managing GCP resources such as Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, and VPC components.
- Execute basic operational tasks under supervision (e.g., VM updates, firewall rule adjustments, storage operations).
- Perform routine maintenance activities including system checks, log reviews, and resource clean-ups.
2. Monitoring & Troubleshooting
- Monitor system health using Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and alert dashboards.
- Troubleshoot common infrastructure issues with guidance.
- Document issues and resolutions for team knowledge base.
3. Automation & Infrastructure-as-Code
- Work with Terraform modules or GCP Deployment Manager scripts to deploy infrastructure.
- Update or maintain simple IaC components with support from senior engineers.
- Learn and follow version-control and change-management practices (Git workflows).
4. Security & Compliance
- Support implementation of secure IAM policies, service accounts, key management, and firewall configurations.
- Follow best practices for resource hardening based on team guidelines.
- Assist with remediation of security findings identified by tools such as Security Command Center.
5. Collaboration & Learning
- Work closely with cloud engineers, DevOps, and application teams to support deployments.
- Participate in stand-ups, sprint planning, and technical reviews.
- Continuously learn GCP services, automation tools, and cloud engineering patterns.
Key skills required:
- Basic understanding of cloud computing and infrastructure components.
- Exposure to or foundational knowledge of GCP services such as Compute Engine, IAM, VPC, Cloud Storage.
- Familiarity with Linux/Windows server concepts.
- Basic scripting knowledge (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (CIDR, firewall rules, DNS, routing).
- Strong willingness to learn, troubleshoot, and adapt.
- Google Associate Cloud Engineer (ACE) certification (or working toward it).
- Exposure to Terraform or any IaC concept.
- Familiarity with CI/CD concepts or DevOps practices.
- Understanding of containers and Kubernetes (GKE) is a plus.
