Job Description: GCP DevOps Consultant Department: Cloud & Shared Services Location: Employment Type: Full-Time Experience Required: 5+ Years Level: Manager (Technical Leadership Role) About the Role We are seeking a GCP DevOps Manager to lead cloud-native engineering, automation, CI/CD, and platform operations across Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role is ideal for a hands on leader with strong DevOps, SRE, and platform engineering expertise who can drive automation-first delivery, improve reliability, and accelerate application modernization across the enterprise. The ideal candidate brings deep GCP experience, strong infrastructure and DevOps engineering skills, and the ability to guide teams, define standards, and operate GCP environments at scale. Key Responsibilities • Lead DevOps engineering for GCP, including CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and GitOps adoption. • Design and implement highly available, scalable, and secure GCP architectures using Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, VPC, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, and related services. • Own GCP Landing Zone, infrastructure governance, IAM, service accounts, network segmentation, and project hierarchy. • Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) maturity using Terraform, Deployment Manager, and automation pipelines. • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, or Tekton. • Lead SRE practices including SLIs, SLOs, monitoring, incident response, postmortems, and resilience engineering. • Strengthen observability using Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Error Reporting, Cloud Trace, and APM capabilities. • Manage cloud cost optimization (FinOps), spend governance, and resource efficiency. • Collaborate with application, security, data, and product teams to accelerate cloud adoption. • Implement best practices for container orchestration using GKE, service mesh, ingress controllers, and autoscaling. • Ensure compliance with cloud governance, security controls, and regulatory requirements. • Mentor DevOps and cloud engineers, enabling growth in automation, CI/CD, SRE, and cloud engineering. Required Qualifications • 8+ years of IT experience with at least 4–5 years in GCP DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or SRE roles. • Strong hands-on experience with GCP: Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Build, VPC, IAM, KMS, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, BigQuery. • Proven experience building CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and cloud-native deployment patterns. • Hands-on skills in Terraform, GCP CLI, Python/Go, Bash, and GitOps practices. • Experience with GKE, containers, Kubernetes operations, Istio/Anthos Service Mesh, and workload management. • Strong understanding of networking: VPC design, Interconnect, Private Service Connect, firewall rules, Cloud NAT. • Experience with monitoring, logging, SRE, and reliability engineering. • Experience managing cloud financials, cost optimization, budgets, and usage governance. • GCP certifications preferred (Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, PCA, GKE Specialist). • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with multi-cloud environments (AWS/Azure + GCP). • Exposure to Anthos, hybrid workloads, and multi-cluster GKE. • Experience in Managed Services, Consulting, or System Integration roles. • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
