Work you’ll do
The primary role is to make immediate, direct contributions to enhancing our clients’ competitive position and performance in ways that are distinctive, innovative, and sustainable.
To do this, one must perform the following activities within the firm:
Job Summary:
Deloitte is looking for a Consultant with 4-7 years of experience in scripting (Bash, Python), application development (Java/JavaScript), and automation/orchestration using Rundeck. The role involves developing automation scripts, building applications/tools, and managing job orchestration workflows to improve operational efficiency and support DevOps practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash and Python for deployment, monitoring, and operational automation.
- Design and develop Java and JavaScript applications or utilities as part of automation and integration efforts.
- Implement and manage job orchestration workflows using Rundeck, ensuring reliability and efficiency.
- Integrate Rundeck with CI/CD pipelines and other DevOps tools to streamline deployment processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automation scripts, applications, and Rundeck job executions.
- Participate in code reviews and adhere to coding standards and best practices.
- Document automation workflows, scripts, and tools to support team knowledge and compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver automation solutions aligned with business needs.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
Experience:
- 3 - 5 years of experience in scripting with Bash and Python.
- Experience in Java and JavaScript development.
- Hands-on experience with Rundeck for job scheduling and orchestration.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and integrating automation workflows.
- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in Java, Python, or DevOps tools.
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with other automation tools like Ansible or Jenkins.
Eligibility criteria and requirements:
- Bachelors: Commerce/ Science / Engineering background from a premier institute preferred
- Willingness to travel for short and long term durations.
- Strong communication skills (written & verbal).
