Role Overview

 

Experienced SAP BW Consultant with strong expertise in BW on HANA, BW/4HANA, SAP Datasphere, and BDC. Responsibilities include data modeling, ETL development, production support, reporting enhancements, and enabling scalable analytics across SAP and third-party systems. Project management skill in coordinating with different BW stakeholders in consolidating/ migrating customers to one Bw4Hana / Datasphere.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • SAP BW on HANA / BW/4HANA
  • Develop data models (ADSOs, CompositeProviders, Open ODS Views).
  • Build and optimize ETL flows, transformations, and DTPs.
  • Perform performance tuning across queries, data flows, and HANA views.
  • Manage extractions via SAP systems, ODP/ODQ, and integration layers.
  • SAP Datasphere
  • Build models using Data Builder, Business Builder, and Analytical Modeler.
  • Integrate Datasphere with BW/4HANA and cloud/on‑prem SAP systems.
  • Support data governance, harmonization, and lineage.
  • SAP BDC (Business Data Cloud)
  • Design, build, and optimize BDC data pipelines for large‑scale data ingestion and transformation.
  • Integrate SAP BW/4HANA and Datasphere with SAP BDC to enable seamless data access across SAP and cloud ecosystems.
  • Implement data flows to support real‑time, near‑real‑time, and batch data processing scenarios.
  • Configure and manage secure data connections between SAP, BDC, and external platforms like Databricks.
  • Ensure data quality, structure, and consistency across all BDC‑enabled pipelines.
  • Support end‑to‑end data governance, cataloging, and lineage tracking within SAP BDC.
  • Troubleshoot data integration issues and optimize BDC performance for analytical workloads.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

 

  • 3+ years in SAP BW, including BW on HANA and BW/4HANA.
  • Strong HANA modeling skills (Calculation Views, SQL).
  • Ability to set up proper developer guidelines for BW developers for segregating different teams using one BW platform.
  • Project management skill in coordinating with different BW stakeholders in consolidating/ migrating customers to one Bw4Hana / Datasphere.
  • Hands-on SAP Datasphere experience.
  • Strong BDC development + DataBricks capability.
  • Solid understanding of ETL, SAP extractors, and ODP.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
