Job Title: Consultant – Server Operations

Job Summary:

Deloitte is seeking a skilled Consultant with 4 to 7 years of hands-on experience in Server Operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting enterprise server infrastructure (on-premises and cloud), ensuring high availability, performance, and security of systems across global client environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot Windows and/or Linux servers in physical, virtual, or cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Perform server provisioning, patching, configuration, and hardening based on IT security policies.
• Manage backup and recovery operations using enterprise tools like Veeam, Commvault, or Azure Backup.
• Monitor system performance and proactively resolve bottlenecks and errors using tools like Nagios, SolarWinds, or Zabbix.
• Collaborate with networking, storage, and application teams for smooth IT operations and deployment.
• Respond to incidents and change requests as per ITIL best practices.
• Maintain and update system documentation, including SOPs and change logs.
• Participate in data center operations, DR drills, and business continuity planning.
• Ensure compliance with operational policies, SLA commitments, and security standards.
• Provide on-call support and work in shifts if required.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Experience:

• 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in server administration and infrastructure operations.
• Strong experience with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and/or Linux distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
• Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file/print services.
• Experience with virtualization platforms like VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.

Skills:

• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Good knowledge of scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automation.
• Understanding of ITIL framework, ticketing tools (ServiceNow, BMC Remedy), and change management.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-availability environment.
• Good communication skills for interaction with stakeholders and end users.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications such as MCSA, RHCE, VMware VCP, or Azure Administrator Associate.
• Experience with cloud-based server operations (Azure VM, AWS EC2, GCP Compute).
• Familiarity with IaC tools like Terraform or Ansible is a plus.
• Experience working in a consulting or client-facing role is desirable.
