Your work profile
We are seeking a Windows Engineer with 1–5 years of experience supporting Windows Server platforms in a Software‑Defined Data Center (SDDC) environment. The role involves day‑to‑day operations, incident troubleshooting, patching, VM management, and working alongside senior engineers to maintain a secure and reliable SDDC environment powered by VMware vSphere, vSAN, and NSX‑T.Database Administration
Windows Server Operations
- Perform installation, configuration, and administration of Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022.
- Support Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and certificate-related tasks.
- Manage OS patching, updates, and basic remediation of vulnerabilities.
- Troubleshoot OS-level issues: services, login problems, file systems, performance, event logs.
- Support Windows clustering concepts where applicable.
SDDC / Virtualization
- Provision, manage, and support Windows VMs running on VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter.
- Handle VM lifecycle tasks: creation, resource allocation, snapshots, templates, and migrations.
- Collaborate with virtualization/storage teams on vSAN, SAN/NAS, and network dependencies.
Backup & Recovery
- Work with backup engineers to ensure reliable backups using platforms like Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik, or Cohesity.
- Perform restore tests and basic recovery tasks.
- Help maintain backup compliance and documentation.
Security & Compliance
- Implement basic OS hardening as per guidelines (CIS/organization standards).
- Apply patches, updates, and assist with vulnerability closure.
- Maintain audit logs and support compliance checks.
- Monitoring & Documentation
- Monitor server health, capacity, and performance using tools like vROps, SCOM, Nagios, or Grafana.
- Create and update SOPs, runbooks, and configuration documentation.
- Assist in incident, problem, and change management processes.
Automation (Basic)
- Use PowerShell or PowerCLI for automation of routine tasks (user operations, service checks, inventory, etc.).
- Support senior engineers in developing scripts or automation workflows.
Key skills required:
- 1–5 years of hands‑on experience with Windows Server administration.
- Working knowledge of:
- Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO
- Windows patching and basic security practices
- PowerShell scripting (basic to intermediate)
- Experience managing VMs in VMware vSphere environments (vCenter, ESXi).
- Exposure to storage fundamentals: vSAN, SAN, or NAS (basic understanding).
- Familiarity with enterprise backup tools.
- Good troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
- Understanding of ITIL (incident/change) processes.
- Strong troubleshooting mindset, documentation skills, and ability to collaborate across teams.
