AWS SME – Manager Department: Cloud & Shared Services Location: Employment Type: Full-Time Experience Required: 12+ Years About the Role We are seeking a visionary AWS Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Manager to lead enterprise-wide AWS strategy, architecture, and shared services operations. This senior leadership role focuses on driving scalable, secure, and cost-efficient AWS platforms across business units while governing cloud adoption and service delivery. the automation process flow.
• Act as the AWS technical authority for Shared Services, overseeing architecture, design, and operations across AWS environments.
• Define and enforce cloud governance, best practices, tagging standards, cost optimization frameworks, and operational controls.
• Lead AWS shared services strategy including AWS Organizations, landing zones, VPC design, IAM, and service catalogs.
• Provide architectural oversight for containerized platforms using ECS and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) strategy using Terraform to standardize and automate cloud provisioning.
• Guide adoption of serverless and event-driven architectures using Lambda and SNS.
• Oversee cloud data and analytics platforms leveraging Databricks and LakeFlow.
• Support secure virtual desktop solutions using AWS AppStream 2.0 where applicable.
• Manage cloud financials, FinOps, forecasting, chargeback/showback models, and optimization initiatives.
• Ensure operational excellence across availability, performance, security, compliance, and DR.
• Collaborate with InfoSec and compliance teams to meet ISO, SOC2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS requirements.
• Mentor senior engineers and consultants, promoting DevOps, automation-first, and IaC-driven practices.
• Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, customers, and partners on cloud transformation initiatives. Required Qualifications
• 12+ years in IT infrastructure and cloud services, with 5+ years of deep AWS experience.
• Strong expertise in AWS services including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, SNS, CloudWatch, Route 53.
• Extensive experience with Terraform and enterprise-scale IaC implementations.
• Experience with Databricks, LakeFlow, and cloud data platforms.
• Proven leadership in large-scale AWS programs and shared services.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• AWS Professional-level certifications preferred.
