Your work profile.
Primary purpose of the role:
As a Director in Project Controlling, you will lead strategic financial initiatives focused on cost optimization, cash flow management, and other commercial themes across the firm’s service lines. You will be responsible for driving financial discipline, partnering with business leaders, and ensuring robust financial controls in a dynamic and high-performance environment in a highly automated, touchless manner.
Cost Management & Optimization
· Lead project cost analysis and control initiatives across departments and service lines.
· Develop and implement cost-saving strategies aligned with business goals.
· Monitor and report on cost variances, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
· Partner with Resource Management and Procurement to drive value creation and efficiency.
Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
· Oversee cash forecasting, realization of billed snd unbilled debtors, variation from forecast, and unapplied cash.
· Optimize working capital through receivables and payables initiatives.
· Ensure timely and accurate cash plan, actual reporting and analysis.
· Partner with Business and firm-level treasury to drive value creation and efficiency.
Billing Planning
· Support the Business in generating revenue forecasts and billing forecasts.
· Monitor actuals and lead resolution of Gaps between the billing plan, billing terms as per the Engagement plan, and actuals
Financial Operations Excellence Program
· Conceptualize and execute touchless Finance operations (including cash and cost controlling)
· Engage with the business team to provide business requirements, aiding with speed/efficiency/management by exception.
· Create scalable solutions in sprints
· Oversee UAT and testing by own teams and business teams
· Be accountable for tech spent and the ROI from benefits delivered.
· Partner with the COO’s team and Tech Delivery teams to deliver Finance transformation projects.
Governance & Compliance
· Ensure adherence to project controls
· Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems.
· Partner with QRM teams and Delivery Excellence to sync with assessments related to cost and cash functions.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
· Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals.
· Act as a strategic business partner to service line leaders and executive management.
· Present financial insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
· Lead scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis for strategic decision-making.
Qualifications and Experience
• CA / MBA in Finance.
• 12–15 years of progressive experience in finance/operations, with a strong focus on cost control, cash management, and finance transformation
• Prior experience in a Big 4 or large services business preferred.
• Expertise in financial systems (SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
• Knowledge of I-certis, FieldGlass, Anaplan preferred
• Experience of working with Technical teams to deliver finance transformation projects, including creation of Dashboards, tool adoption, etc is a must
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership capabilities.
