Position Summary

The Director – SAP FICO is responsible for leading the global SAP Finance and Controlling function, driving ERP transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment between finance processes and technology solutions, and providing strategic direction for SAP S/4HANA implementations, upgrades, and support. The role partners closely with Finance, Controlling, Treasury, Tax, Procurement, Supply Chain, and IT leadership to enable business growth through technology innovation and process excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Define and execute the SAP FICO roadmap aligned with business and digital transformation objectives.
• Lead SAP S/4HANA transformation, migration, and modernization programs.
• Partner with CFOs, Finance Controllers, and business stakeholders to optimize end-to-end finance processes.
• Establish governance, standards, and best practices for SAP Finance solutions.

SAP Solution Management

• Drive design, implementation, enhancement, and support of SAP FICO solutions.
• Oversee SAP Finance modules including:
• General Ledger (GL)
• Accounts Payable (AP)
• Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Asset Accounting (AA)
• Bank Accounting
• Cost Center Accounting (CCA)
• Profit Center Accounting (PCA)
• Internal Orders
• Product Costing
• Profitability Analysis (CO-PA)
• Ensure integration with MM, SD, PP, WM/EWM, SuccessFactors, Concur, Ariba, and other enterprise applications.

Program & Project Management

• Lead large-scale global SAP implementation and rollout programs.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, resources, risks, and vendor relationships.
• Ensure successful delivery of SAP projects using Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Drive continuous process improvements and automation initiatives.

Stakeholder Management

• Act as a trusted advisor to Finance and Executive Leadership teams.
• Collaborate with business leaders to identify opportunities for process optimization.
• Manage relationships with SAP, system integrators, and third-party vendors.

Team Leadership

• Build, mentor, and lead high-performing SAP functional teams.
• Manage SAP FICO architects, consultants, analysts, and support resources.
• Establish performance metrics and career development plans for team members.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.

Governance, Compliance & Controls

• Ensure compliance with SOX, IFRS, GAAP, tax regulations, and internal control requirements.
• Implement finance process controls, audit readiness, and risk management practices.
• Support internal and external audits related to SAP Finance systems.

Innovation & Technology

• Evaluate emerging SAP technologies and finance innovations.
• Drive adoption of:
• SAP S/4HANA Finance
• SAP Fiori
• SAP BTP
• Group Reporting
• Central Finance
• Embedded Analytics
• AI and Automation capabilities within SAP ecosystem

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• MBA, CA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.

Experience

• 15+ years of SAP consulting and/or industry experience.
• 8+ years of leadership experience managing SAP FICO teams and global programs.
• Proven experience leading SAP S/4HANA implementation or transformation programs.
• Experience in multinational/global organizations preferred.
