Your work profile 

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Project Accounting Entries: Assist in the accurate preparation, review, and posting of project-related accounting entries such as cost capitalization, accruals, and allocations to ensure proper reflection of project costs and revenues in the financial systems. 

  • Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the project ledger with detailed and timely recording of all transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. 

  • Cash Reconciliations: Perform thorough reconciliations of project cash flows to validate that recorded transactions correspond to actual cash movements, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly. 

  • IFCA Transactions: Execute Integrated Financial and Cost Accounting (IFCA) transactions accurately and within defined timelines, ensuring all project costs are captured appropriately in the system. 

  • Cost Allocation: Allocate project costs across various project components and cost centers based on predefined methodologies, ensuring transparency and accuracy in financial reporting. 

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review detailed financial reports related to project status, including cost reports, forecasts, and variance analysis, ensuring all data is accurate, complete, and compliant with IFRS/GAAP standards. 

  • Budget Monitoring: Monitor project budgets against actual expenditures, track variances, and report deviations to senior team members, supporting proactive financial management. 

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, procurement, treasury, and finance teams to validate project expenses, resolve invoice or payment discrepancies, and facilitate smooth financial operations. 

  • Month-End & Year-End Closing: Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparing accruals, adjusting entries, and ensuring all project costs are accurately recorded within reporting periods. 

  • Audit Support: Assist internal and external auditors by providing necessary documentation, explanations, and reconciliations related to project accounting. 

  • Process Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to enhance project accounting and reporting processes, contributing ideas and supporting implementation of system upgrades or workflow optimizations. 

  • ERP & Systems Usage: Utilize ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or equivalent) and project management software to record, track, and report project financial data effectively.

Key skills required:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. 

  • Accounting certifications (CA, CPA, ACCA, CMA) are advantageous but not mandatory. 

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in project accounting, financial reporting, or a related finance role. 

  • Exposure to Real Estate or Manufacturing industries preferred 

  • Familiarity with accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP) and project accounting practices.
