Role: A mid-level professional who takes ownership of project accounting tasks including ledger maintenance, cost allocation, cash reconciliations, and financial reporting. Acts as a key contact for stakeholders to resolve project financial issues and supports process improvements and system optimizations within the project accounting function.

The Team strategic growth team serves as a central pillar driving growth and transformation within Deloitte, spanning several business lines and various technology functions. We are established as a centralized team collaborating across consulting, implementation, and operation to maintain and enhance client value offerings and services. We innovate conventional approaches, leveraging Deloitte technology, differentiated domain expertise, intellectual property, talent, and capacity to embed continuous advantage and deliver enhanced business value.
In this team, our focus is on catering to the unique needs and preferences of clients in the South Asia region. Your role within this dynamic team is essential for establishing networks and relationships across the client stakeholder ecosystem and ensuring service fulfillment. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with other Deloitte leadership and stakeholders dedicated to the client. Your contributions will involve nurturing new and existing relationships, supporting presales life cycles, and playing a pivotal role in driving the success of Deloitte business growth for the specific client.

Key Responsibilities:
- Project Accounting Management: Take ownership of preparing, reviewing, and posting project accounting entries including cost capitalization, accruals, and cost allocations, ensuring accuracy and timely updates in financial systems.
- Ledger Oversight: Maintain and monitor the project ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded in accordance with company policies and accounting standards, minimizing errors and discrepancies.
- Cash Reconciliations: Perform detailed cash reconciliations for projects to confirm the accuracy of recorded cash flows and promptly investigate and resolve any anomalies or discrepancies.
- IFCA Transactions Execution: Lead execution of Integrated Financial and Cost Accounting (IFCA) transactions, ensuring all project costs are properly recorded and compliant with internal and regulatory requirements.
- Cost Allocation & Budget Tracking: Accurately allocate project costs to respective components and cost centers, and closely monitor project budgets versus actual expenditures, analyzing variances and escalating issues as needed.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare, review, and present comprehensive financial reports on project performance including forecasts, cost reports, and variance analysis, ensuring compliance with IFRS/GAAP and internal policies.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a key liaison with project managers, procurement, treasury, and finance teams to validate project costs, address invoice and payment queries, and ensure smooth financial processes.
- Month-End & Year-End Closing: Lead month-end and year-end project accounting closing activities including accruals, adjustments, and ensuring completeness and accuracy of all project financial records.
- Audit Coordination: Support internal and external audit processes by preparing required documentation, responding to queries, and implementing audit recommendations related to project accounting.
- Process Optimization: Identify inefficiencies in project accounting processes and recommend improvements; support automation initiatives and system enhancements to improve reporting accuracy and timeliness.
- ERP & System Expertise: Utilize and optimize ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or equivalent) for efficient project financial data management and reporting.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and training to Associates and junior team members to build technical expertise and ensure quality deliverables.
Desired qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- Relevant accounting certifications (CA, CPA, ACCA, CMA) preferred.
- 4 to 6 years of progressive experience in project accounting, financial reporting, or a related field.
- Experience or exposure to Real Estate and Manufacturing industries is preferred
- Strong understanding of IFRS/GAAP and project accounting principles.

- This profile involves frequent travelling to client locations
