1) Overview
Assistant Manager Project Accounting manages the financial operations of projects, overseeing cost management, reconciliations, month-end activities, and strategic reporting. This role ensures compliance, accuracy, and timely financial reporting, while guiding the team and supporting decision-making processes with analytical insights. The Team Lead is responsible for addressing project-related queries and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure smooth project financials.

· Project Business Support Reporting:
· Perform Project Ledger to General Ledger Reconciliations
· Prepare Project Cost Report
· Generate MDM people reconciliation reporting.
· Providing reporting around actual expenditure
· Compile and send overhead project reports.
· Provide business with reporting backs on portfolio at various intervals.
· Resource forecast and overheads and preparation for entry
· Perform project ledger to general ledger reconciliations - Settlements.
· Perform CA Reconciliations
· Cost allocation clearing and other miscellaneous Balance sheet recs
· Monitor R12 exception reports and clear (Costs, Payables, PA Interface)
· Perform Project Ledger to General Ledger Reconciliations:
· Manage and perform reconciliations between the General Ledger (GL) and Profit and Loss (PL) statements.
• Resolve discrepancies to ensure financial data accuracy.
· Month-End Checks and Close Activities:
• Lead month-end close activities, ensuring all project financials are updated and reconciled.
• Perform detailed checks and validations to maintain accuracy.
· Generate MDM people reconciliation reporting:
• The MDM people reconciliation report ensures that data across various systems is accurate.
· Project Financial Dashboard and Analytics:
• Prepare and analyze project financial dashboards for key insights.
• Provide strategic recommendations based on data trends and analytics.
· Project Recharges and Revenue Recognition:
• Perform project recharges and revenue recognition tasks.
· Training and Dashboard Management:
Support to Manager
Support Deputy Manager/Manager (as required) in areas such as:
· Strategic Insights
· Workflow Optimization
· Compliance and Approvals
· Team Coordination
· Stakeholder Management
3) Attributes Required
Experience
Qualifications
· 8-12 years of previous work experience in project accounting, financial operations, or a related role.
· Strong ability to lead and manage a team to achieve project goals.
· High attention to detail in financial analysis and reporting.
· Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
· Skilled in identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills with stakeholders and teams.
· Expertise in reconciliations, month-end activities, and revenue recognition.
· A Master's or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
· Relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are a plus.
· Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle R12) and advanced MS Excel skills.
