1) Overview

Assistant Manager Project Accounting manages the financial operations of projects, overseeing cost management, reconciliations, month-end activities, and strategic reporting. This role ensures compliance, accuracy, and timely financial reporting, while guiding the team and supporting decision-making processes with analytical insights. The Team Lead is responsible for addressing project-related queries and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure smooth project financials.

Service Delivery

·     Project Business Support Reporting:

•      Oversee and prepare business support reports for project financials.

•      Ensure reports align with organizational goals and financial policies.

 

·     Project GL vs PL Reconciliation:

•      Manage and perform reconciliations between the General Ledger (GL) and Profit and Loss (PL) statements.

•      Resolve discrepancies to ensure financial data accuracy.

 

·     Month-End Checks and Close Activities:

•      Lead month-end close activities, ensuring all project financials are updated and reconciled.

•      Perform detailed checks and validations to maintain accuracy.

 

·     Project Closure Reviews and Approvals:

•      Review and approve project closure activities.

•      Ensure that all project expenses and revenues are properly accounted for before closure.

 

·     Project Financial Dashboard and Analytics:

•      Prepare and analyze project financial dashboards for key insights.

•      Provide strategic recommendations based on data trends and analytics.

 

·     Project Cost and Fuel Tax Credit Management:

•      Manage and track project costs, including fuel tax credits.

•      Ensure accurate accounting and reporting for all project-related costs.

 

·     Project Metrics and Work-in-Progress Reporting:

•      Prepare and submit regular project metrics and work-in-progress reports.

•      Monitor progress to ensure alignment with financial goals.

 

·     Project Recharges and Revenue Recognition:

•      Perform project recharges and revenue recognition tasks.

•      Ensure all revenue is recognized in compliance with accounting standards and policies.

 

·     Training and Dashboard Management:

 

 

 

 

Support to Deputy Manager/Manager

Support Deputy Manager/Manager (as required) in areas such as:

 

·     Strategic Insights

·     Workflow Optimization

·     Compliance and Approvals

3) Attributes Required

Experience

Qualifications

·        8-12 years of previous work experience in project accounting, financial operations, or a related role.

·        Strong ability to lead and manage a team to achieve project goals.

·        High attention to detail in financial analysis and reporting.

·        Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.

·        Skilled in identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.

·        Excellent communication and collaboration skills with stakeholders and teams.

·       Expertise in reconciliations, month-end activities, and revenue recognition.

·       A Master's or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

·       Relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are a plus.

·       Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle R12) and advanced MS Excel skills.
