Work you’ll do.

 

As a Project Management Officer (PMO) within the Talent team, you will be responsible for leading and supporting HR projects that focus on people transitions, particularly during mergers, acquisitions, and organizational restructuring. You will work closely with HR leadership, business stakeholders, and external partners to ensure that transitions occur smoothly and efficiently. Your role will involve overseeing project timelines, coordinating resources, managing stakeholder communications, and optimizing processes to ensure the success of people transition efforts.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Project Leadership & Coordination:
    • Lead and manage cross-functional HR projects related to people transition.
    • Create and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure all project milestones are met.
    • Oversee the coordination of HR resources across multiple teams to support key activities during transitions, including total rewards, talent retention, organizational design, employee communications, and workforce integration or separation.
    • Act as the main point of contact between HR and other departments (Finance, Legal, IT, etc.) to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Engage with senior leadership and key stakeholders to ensure alignment on objectives, timelines, and expected outcomes.
    • Provide regular project updates, risk assessments, and status reports to HR leadership and executive teams.
    • Support communication efforts related to organizational changes, including change management strategies, employee engagement, and cultural alignment during integrations or separations.
  • Risk & Issue Management:
    • Identify potential risks, bottlenecks, or challenges related to HR deliverables during mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
    • Proactively resolve issues and escalate challenges to the appropriate parties when necessary to minimize impact on the project.
    • Maintain a comprehensive project risk register and ensure mitigation plans are in place.
  • Process Optimization:
    • Develop and continuously improve HR project management processes, tools, and templates to streamline the handling of People Transition activities.
    • Support the creation and execution of integration/divestiture playbooks and best practices for future transactions.
    • Capture and document lessons learned from each project to inform future HR strategies and approaches.
  • Change Management & Employee Experience:
    • Work closely with the Change Management team to ensure the smooth transition for employees during mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
    • Focus on minimizing disruption to the workforce while maintaining productivity and morale during periods of significant change.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Project Management, or related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, focus on HR functions in M&A, divestiture, or corporate restructuring environments will be an added advantage
    • Strong understanding of HR processes, employee relations, organizational development, and change management strategies.
  • Project Management Expertise:
    • Certification in Project Management (PMP, Prince2, etc.) is preferred.
    • Experience with Agile project management methodologies is a plus.
    • Proven track record in managing complex, high-stakes projects with tight deadlines and multiple stakeholders.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment, managing competing priorities.
    • High level of emotional intelligence and sensitivity to the needs of employees during organizational changes.
