Your work profile
Key Responsibilities:
Power BI Development
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports tailored to business requirements.
- Create and optimize data models using Power Query, DAX, and best practices in star-schema design.
- Develop measures, calculated columns, hierarchies, KPIs, and drill-through reports.
- Implement role-based security (Row Level Security - RLS) in Power BI.
Data Integration & Modelling
- Connect Power BI to multiple sources (SQL Server, Excel, SAP, ADL, APIs, etc.) and create unified, accurate data models.
- Ensure data refresh reliability and monitor scheduled refresh processes.
- Optimize datasets for performance and scalability.
Data Analysis & Insights
- Analyze financial and operational datasets and translate them into actionable insights.
- Partner with business teams to understand KPIs and reporting objectives.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and reports as required.
Quality & Performance
- Follow best practices in Power BI governance, versioning, and performance optimization.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability of dashboards and reports.
Key skills required
Desired qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Engineering, Statistics, Finance, or a related field (required).
- Master’s degree in Data Science, Analytics, Business Intelligence, or related discipline (preferred, not mandatory).
- Professional certifications are a strong advantage, such as:
- Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate (Power BI)
- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst (PL-300)
- Certifications in SQL, Python, or other BI/ETL tools (desirable).
- Equivalent hands-on experience in BI development
Desired skills and work experience
- 2–6 years of hands-on experience in Power BI development.
Strong expertise in:
- DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) – writing efficient measures and calculated columns.
- Power Query (M language) for data transformations.
- Data modeling principles (star schema, fact/dimension tables).
- Performance tuning of datasets and dashboards.
- Proficiency in SQL for querying and validating data.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel for analytics and reporting.
- Experience with large datasets and integrating multiple sources (ERP, CRM, HRMS, etc.).
- Knowledge of Python / R / Alteryx / Tableau is a plus, but not required.
