The Team

The Conflicts/independence team is a central team which assists the engagement team in the client and acceptance procedure. The team works closely with the business and function across service line to provide them evaluation of the conflicts. The team works on the set procedures and policies provided by Global team.  

Your Work Profile

As a Conflict check/independence AM or DM, in Enabling Areas, you will be part of the dynamic Risk & Brand Protection Group, comprising a group of risk and compliance professionals. You will build and nurture optimistic, professional working relationships with our internal clients and with various teams within the Risk & Brand Protection Group, with the intention to exceed client expectations. You will need to be flexible to fit it in all kind of roles within the conflicts/independence team.  

• Familiarity and ability to comprehend the various regulations and policies like:

• IESBA Code of Ethics
• SEC Independence Rules
• PCAOB requirements
• AICPA Independence Standards
• Local regulatory requirements, as applicable that has a bearing on independence/conflicts and determine action plan for its implementation
• Application of the independence rules to given situations and analyse the client structure, ownership information, and affiliate relationships to determine independence implications.
• Evaluate business relationships, service arrangements, and financial interests for compliance with independence requirements.
• Identify potential independence threats and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
• Monitoring activities – review of Engagement Acceptance Testing EAT process, issuance of reports and related activities, International Standards on Quality Management (ISQM)
• Independence and conflict check completion of merger’s & acquisition data received from Global team
• Be able to assist in the process of management activities like dashboards, MIS reporting’s etc
• Reviewing work of junior team members 

Key Skills Required

• Qualified CA
• Must have minimum 1 to 2 years of experience for AM and 3-5 years for DM experience in Compliance and Risk Management out of overall experience of 4 - 6 and 6 - 9 years of experience respectively
• Strong Command over English both spoken and written as a language.
• Familiarity with audit client acceptance, conflict checks, and regulatory compliance processes is advantageous.
