Job Description – Order Management System (OMS) Manager

Experience: 10–14 Years

Role: OMS Manager / Senior Manager – Order Management Systems

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced OMS Manager to lead the implementation, support, optimization, and governance of enterprise Order Management Systems across business units. The ideal candidate will possess strong domain expertise in order lifecycle management, supply chain processes, system integrations, stakeholder management, and team leadership. The role will drive OMS strategy, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring seamless order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage end-to-end OMS operations and system performance.
  • Lead OMS implementation, upgrades, enhancements, and transformation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, supply chain, logistics, customer service, and external vendors.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into OMS functional and technical solutions.
  • Manage order orchestration, inventory visibility, fulfillment workflows, returns, and exception management processes.
  • Drive system integration with ERP, WMS, CRM, eCommerce platforms, transportation systems, and third-party applications.
  • Monitor OMS KPIs, system health, SLA adherence, and operational efficiency metrics.
  • Lead root cause analysis and resolution of critical production issues.
  • Establish governance, change management, release management, and support processes.
  • Manage vendor relationships, project timelines, budgets, and resource planning.
  • Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor and lead cross-functional OMS support and project teams.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, and digital transformation.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 10–14 years of overall IT/business systems experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience managing Order Management Systems.
  • Strong understanding of Order-to-Cash (O2C) and Supply Chain processes.
  • Experience with OMS platforms such as:
  • IBM Sterling Order Management
  • Manhattan Active Omni
  • SAP Order Management
  • Oracle Order Management Cloud
  • Salesforce Order Management
  • Strong knowledge of API integrations, EDI, microservices, and middleware technologies.
  • Experience with ERP, WMS, CRM, and eCommerce ecosystems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience leading medium to large-scale OMS implementation programs.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and DevOps methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Retail, eCommerce, Manufacturing, Consumer Goods, or Supply Chain domains.
  • Exposure to cloud-based OMS solutions and digital commerce platforms.
  • PMP, Agile, Scrum, ITIL, or Supply Chain certifications preferred.
  • Experience managing geographically distributed teams.
