Role Summary

The Appian Architect is responsible for overall solution architecture, technical governance, and strategic direction of Appian-based enterprise applications. This role ensures scalable, secure, and high‑performing low‑code solutions aligned with business and IT strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Define end‑to‑end Appian solution architecture including process design, data models, integrations, and security
• Lead architectural decisions across Appian components such as SAIL, Records, Process Models, and CDTs
• Ensure adherence to Appian and enterprise architecture best practices and standards
• Design and govern integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, message queues, and external systems (Java/.NET)
• Drive non‑functional requirements: performance, scalability, availability, and security
• Provide technical leadership on Appian upgrades, cloud/on‑prem deployments, and environment strategy
• Review and approve Appian design and code produced by Leads and Developers
• Mentor Appian Leads and development teams; conduct architecture and design workshops
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and enterprise architects
• Support pre‑sales, effort estimation, and solution proposals where required

Required Skills & Experience

• 10–15 years of overall IT experience with 5–7+ years of Appian platform experience
• Strong expertise in Appian BPM, SAIL UI, Records, Reports, and Decision Rules
• Deep understanding of Appian Performance, Deployment, and Environment management
• Strong integration experience using REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, JDBC
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), CI/CD, and DevOps practices
• Experience in high‑volume, enterprise‑grade applications
• Excellent stakeholder communication and leadership skills

Preferred Certifications

• Appian Certified Lead Developer (Mandatory)
