Role Overview

The Data Modeller will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support enterprise data platforms and data products. The role works closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, architects, and governance teams to ensure data models are scalable, consistent, and aligned with business and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Models for enterprise and domain-specific use cases.
• Translate business requirements into normalized and dimensional data models (3NF, star/snowflake schemas).
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and Architects to ensure models are optimized for implementation on data lakes, warehouses, and Databricks/Snowflake platforms.
• Define common data entities, attributes, and relationships aligned to enterprise data standards.
• Ensure alignment with Data Governance, including naming standards, metadata, lineage, and reference data management.
• Support Data Product design by defining domain-aligned models and reusable canonical data structures.
• Perform impact analysis for model changes and manage model versioning.
• Work with QA and engineering teams to support data validation and reconciliation.
• Review and approve data models developed by project teams to ensure quality and consistency.

Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in Data Modeling techniques: ER modeling, dimensional modeling, normalization.
• Hands-on experience with modeling tools such as ERwin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner, or similar.
• Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational databases.
• Experience with Data Warehousing and Data Lakehouse concepts.
• Familiarity with platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse, Redshift, or similar.
• Understanding of master data, reference data, and slowly changing dimensions (SCDs).
• Experience working with structured and semi-structured data (JSON, Parquet, Avro).
