Job Title: Manager – SAP Basis

Role Overview

  • Lead SAP Basis administration and landscape management across large-scale SAP transformation and S/4HANA programs.
  • Drive architecture, installation, upgrade, migration, and performance optimization initiatives.
  • Manage client-facing engagements while ensuring delivery excellence and governance standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

SAP Landscape & Administration

  • Lead end-to-end SAP Basis operations including installation, configuration, and maintenance of SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, PI/PO, Solution Manager).
  • Manage system refreshes, client copies, kernel upgrades, and support packs.
  • Oversee SAP transport management (TMS) and change control processes.
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery setup.

S/4HANA & Cloud Migrations

  • Lead SAP S/4HANA conversions and greenfield implementations.
  • Drive SAP migration projects (on-premise to cloud – Azure/AWS/GCP).
  • Manage SAP HANA database administration, performance tuning, and backup strategies.
  • Support SAP BTP integration and hybrid landscapes.

Performance & Monitoring

  • Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization measures.
  • Ensure system health checks, early watch alerts, and root cause analysis.
  • Implement proactive monitoring tools and automation where applicable.

Security & Compliance

  • Collaborate with SAP Security and GRC teams to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure patching, vulnerability remediation, and audit readiness.
  • Support SOX, ISO, and other regulatory audits where applicable.

Engagement & Delivery Management

  • Lead multiple SAP Basis workstreams within large programs.
  • Manage project planning, effort estimation, and resource allocation.
  • Conduct quality reviews and ensure adherence to Deloitte delivery standards.
  • Act as primary point of contact for client technical leadership.

People Leadership

  • Mentor and manage Basis consultants and senior consultants.
  • Drive team capability development and performance management.
  • Support recruitment and practice-building initiatives.

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8–12 years of SAP Basis experience, including at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong expertise in:
  • SAP ECC & S/4HANA Basis administration
  • SAP HANA DB administration
  • OS/DB migration (Oracle, HANA, SQL Server)
  • SAP Solution Manager & ChaRM
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP) preferred.
  • Knowledge of SAP Fiori, Gateway, and Web Dispatcher setup.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes and change management.

  • SAP Certified Technology Associate (SAP HANA / S/4HANA)
  • Cloud certifications (Azure/AWS)
  • ITIL Certification
