Job Description – SAP Testing Lead / Test Manager

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced SAP Testing Lead / Test Manager with strong domain knowledge of Shell-specific business processes, SAP applications, and integrated enterprise systems. The candidate will be responsible for defining test strategies, managing end-to-end testing activities, leading defect management, and coordinating cross-functional testing teams to ensure successful delivery of SAP implementations and enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Domain & Application Expertise

• Demonstrate strong understanding of Shell business processes, SAP applications, and integrated systems.
• Align testing strategies with upstream and downstream business and operational requirements.
• Ensure adequate functional and integration coverage across SAP modules and connected applications.

1. Test Strategy & Planning

• Define and execute comprehensive test strategies, approaches, and execution plans.
• Lead and manage System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Regression Testing, and End-to-End (E2E) testing.
• Establish test schedules, milestones, resource plans, and execution governance.

1. Test Management & Execution

• Oversee test case preparation, review, execution, and progress tracking.
• Monitor test execution status and ensure appropriate testing evidence is maintained.
• Utilize test management tools such as qTest and ALM Octane for test planning, execution, and reporting.

1. Defect Lifecycle Management

• Lead daily cross-functional defect triage meetings.
• Review, prioritize, assign, and track defects across multiple SAP modules and integrated applications.
• Coordinate with functional, technical, and business teams to drive timely defect resolution.
• Monitor defect trends and ensure closure within agreed timelines.

1. Team Leadership & Coordination

• Lead and coordinate daily testing activities across multiple workstreams.
• Manage cross-workstream dependencies, establish execution priorities, and track deliverables.
• Drive collaboration and accountability across geographically distributed testing teams.
• Provide regular testing status updates, highlight risks, and escalate issues where required.

1. Business Stakeholder Engagement & UAT

• Engage business stakeholders and end users early in the UAT cycle.
• Facilitate UAT execution using real-world business scenarios.
• Ensure business process compliance, functional readiness, and user acceptance before go-live.

1. Test Data Management

• Ensure availability and readiness of accurate master and transactional test data before testing cycles.
• Coordinate test data preparation, refreshes, and validation with relevant teams.
• Minimize test execution delays, dependencies, and false defect reporting caused by data-related issues.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in SAP testing and test management.
• Good understanding of Shell-specific business processes and enterprise application landscape.
• Hands-on experience in SIT, UAT, Regression, and E2E testing.
• Experience managing test execution, defect lifecycle, and test reporting.
• Working knowledge of qTest and ALM Octane.
• Proven experience leading defect triage meetings and cross-functional testing teams.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and coordination skills.
• Experience managing testing activities across multiple workstreams and integrated applications.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working in the Shell SAP ecosystem.
• Experience in large-scale SAP transformation, implementation, or migration programmes.
• Exposure to complex SAP integrations and upstream/downstream business processes.
• Experience coordinating business users, functional consultants, technical teams, and testing resources.
