Your work

The role is for Transfer Agency (“TA”) business with specific responsibility to support Business as Usual (‘BAU”) in Bangalore, India.

The department is responsible for client processing and quality checking of transactions and updating the registers of our clients’ mutual funds in response to investor instructions.

This department is responsible for several TA functions, including, but not limited to, Dealing, Registration, Settlement, Reconciliations, Distributions, Management Accounting, Fund Allocation and Client Reporting.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Investor Onboarding & AML: Setting up new investors, performing Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) checks.
  • Transaction Processing: Handling subscriptions, redemptions, and transfers of shares.
  • Record Maintenance: Keeping accurate, up-to-date registers of ownership and handling investor communications.
  • Dividend Distribution: Managing dividend payments to shareholders and interest payments to bondholders.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and producing shareholder reports
  • Support internal risk rating processes by evaluating borrower financial performance and risk drivers. Ensure ratings are aligned with internal credit policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor existing portfolio accounts through periodic reviews and covenant tracking. Identify early warning signals and escalate potential risks in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with relationship managers, underwriting teams, and risk stakeholders to resolve credit-related queries. Provide analytical support during deal structuring and renewal discussions.
  • Conduct industry and macroeconomic research to assess external risk factors impacting borrowers. Incorporate sector outlook and market trends into credit recommendations.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory frameworks, and documentation standards. Maintain proper audit trails and support internal or external audit requirements.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and automation of credit workflows where applicable. Support data quality enhancement and continuous improvement in credit evaluation practices.

 Skills & Experience Required: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree, typically in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience: Previous experience in fund administration, banking, or financial services.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel and experience with, or ability to learn, investor accounting systems (e.g., WSO, Geneva).
  • Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work under pressure
  • Responsible for the TA functions activity processing and or QC
  • Coach and mentor new partners who join the team or are trained in new sub functions.
  •  Assist on the queries and liaise with other departments where necessary
  •  To work closely with the Technical Coordinator and Team Leader to review the process for gaps if any and suggest improvements.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with other areas to ensure smooth process flow.
  • Detail understanding of end to end process and strive to develop into a Subject Matter Expert.
  • Fulfil additional, relevant, tasks appropriate to the role and business requirements

 Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Commerce, Economics, Accounting, or Business Administration.
  • Master’s degree (MBA – Finance or equivalent) is preferred.
  • 24-36 months experience in TA / banking operations.
  • Has eye for details and identify areas prone to frauds and implement necessary controls.
  • Capable to work as part of a team with minimal supervision
  • Ability to build very good relationship across locations and functions
