The team
The Team strategic growth team serves as a central pillar driving growth and transformation within Deloitte, spanning several business lines and various technology functions. We are established as a centralized team collaborating across consulting, implementation, and operation to maintain and enhance client value offerings and services. We innovate conventional approaches, leveraging Deloitte technology, differentiated domain expertise, intellectual property, talent, and capacity to embed continuous advantage and deliver enhanced business value.
In this team, our focus is on catering to the unique needs and preferences of clients in the South Asia region. Your role within this dynamic team is essential for establishing networks and relationships across the client stakeholder ecosystem and ensuring service fulfillment. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with other Deloitte leadership and stakeholders dedicated to the client. Your contributions will involve nurturing new and existing relationships, supporting presales life cycles, and playing a pivotal role in driving the success of Deloitte business growth for the specific client.

Your work profile
Data Center Manager on Duty (MoD) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the data center during their assigned shift. Acting as the single point of accountability, the MoD ensures operational continuity, safety, and security of the facility, while coordinating across technical, operational, and vendor teams. The role requires strong decision-making skills, technical awareness, and leadership presence to manage critical situations and maintain uptime for business-critical services.
Experience
Operational Oversight
- Act as the primary authority on the floor for all data center activities during the shift.
- Monitor facility operations including power, cooling, network, and security systems.
- Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Methods of Procedure (MOPs), and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs).
- Oversee scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, ensuring minimal impact to services.
Incident & Escalation Management
- Serve as the first escalation point for incidents and critical events during the shift.
- Lead incident response and crisis management until service is restored or transitioned.
- Document incidents, RCA findings, and communicate to stakeholders in real-time.
- Ensure compliance with SLA and uptime commitments.
Team & Vendor Coordination
- Supervise shift staff, including engineers, technicians, and security personnel.
- Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and ensure 24x7 coverage through shift handovers.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for maintenance or emergency repairs.
- Conduct safety checks and enforce compliance with health, safety, and security regulations.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate shift logs, activity reports, and incident documentation.
- Communicate status updates to senior management and customers, as required.
- Participate in daily/weekly operational meetings to provide feedback and improvement recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Expertise
- Strong understanding of data center infrastructure (power, UPS, generators, cooling, fire suppression, access control).
- Familiarity with IT systems hosted in data centers (network, storage, servers, cloud integration).
- Knowledge of monitoring tools (BMS, DCIM, NMS) and escalation workflows.
- Leadership & Operations
- 8–12+ years of experience in data center operations or facilities management.
- At least 2+ years in a supervisory or duty manager role.
- Strong decision-making, crisis management, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams under pressure.
- Preferred
- Experience in large-scale enterprise or hyperscale data centers.
- Familiarity with ITIL, ISO 27001, and other compliance frameworks.
- Certifications such as CDCP, CDCS, ITIL, PMP are a plus.
Desired qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Commerce/Technology or equivalent.
