Your work profile

·       Lead design, development, and implementation of ServiceNow IT Operations Management (ITOM) solutions, including Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, and CMDB integrations.

·       Configure and manage Horizontal Discovery, Cloud Discovery, and MID Servers to ensure accurate infrastructure visibility and CI population. 

·       Develop and enhance custom discovery patterns, probes, and sensors for servers, network devices, cloud resources, databases, and applications. 

·       Analyze discovery issues including stale CIs, credential failures, port access issues, and never-scanned devices, and drive root cause resolution.

·       Configure and enhance horizontal discovery, top-down service mapping, and dependency mapping for business-critical applications and infrastructure services. 

·       Configure and manage Event Rules, Alert Actions, event correlation and Alert Policies to reduce noise and improve root cause analysis 

·       Implement CI-based alerting and service topology using CMDB and Service Mapping 

·       Support incident auto-creation and remediation workflows from alerts 

·       Configure and customize ServiceNow modules using Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Policies, Client Scripts, Flow Designer, and IntegrationHub.

·       Develop and maintain automated workflows for infrastructure monitoring, alert correlation, incident creation, and operational event remediation.

·       Work closely with infrastructure, monitoring, and application teams to integrate tools such as SolarWinds, Dynatrace, Splunk, AppDynamics, SCOM, and other enterprise monitoring platforms with ServiceNow.

·       Design and support CMDB data models, CI relationships, and service mapping frameworks to ensure accurate service visibility.

·       Collaborate with architects and platform teams to assess solution design impacts, dependencies, and scalability considerations across enterprise IT operations.

·       Support UAT planning and execution, including defining test scenarios, validating discovery patterns, event rules, expected outcomes, and sign-off criteria.

·       Drive end-to-end traceability of requirements, technical specifications, development, testing, and production deployment.

·       Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues related to ITOM workflows, discovery schedules, MID Servers, event rules, and integrations.

 

Key skills required

 

·       5-6 years of experience as a ServiceNow Developer with strong expertise in IT Operations Management (ITOM).

·       Hands-on experience in Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, CMDB, and MID Server configuration.

·       Strong knowledge of JavaScript, Glide APIs, Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Actions, and Flow Designer.

·       Experience integrating ServiceNow with enterprise monitoring and infrastructure tools using REST APIs, SOAP, webhooks, and connectors.

·       Good understanding of CMDB data governance, CI lifecycle, and service dependency mapping.

·       Experience in event correlation, alert management, operational dashboards, and automated incident workflows.

·       Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

·       Excellent collaboration with cross-functional teams including IT operations, infrastructure, application support, and architects.

·       Exposure to Agile delivery methods and tools such as Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow Agile modules.

·       Preferred certifications: CSA, CAD, CIS–Discovery / CIS–Event Management / CIS–Service Mapping.
