Your work profile

The L2 AWS Infrastructure Support Engineer is responsible for providing advanced operational support, incident troubleshooting, environment maintenance, and platform optimization for AWS-based workloads. The role acts as the second escalation point for production issues, ensuring stability, availability, and performance of cloud infrastructure across compute, storage, network, security, and automation layers.

Key Responsibilities.

  • 1) CI/CD Pipeline Support
  • Assist in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
  • Configure jobs, runners/agents, build stages, artifact management, and deployment workflows.
  • Support integration with Git repositories, code scanning, and secrets management.
  • 2) Automation & Infrastructure as Code
  • Develop basic automation using Ansible, Terraform, PowerCLI, PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Contribute to maintaining IaC modules, configuration playbooks, and automated operational runbooks.
  • Participate in code reviews, version control (Git), and documentation of automation logic.
  • 3) Monitoring, Logging & Alerting
  • Support monitoring and dashboarding using Prometheus/Grafana, vROps/Aria, ELK/Splunk, Loki, or similar tools.
  • Configure and fine-tune alerts, thresholds, and health checks with senior engineers.
  • Assist in troubleshooting performance/availability issues based on logs, metrics, and traces.
  • 4) Reliability Engineering
  • Participate in on-call rotations with guidance and contribute to incident response, ticket ownership, and service restoration.
  • Update/maintain runbooks and ensure knowledge base articles are up to date.
  • Work on reducing operational toil through automation under senior guidance.
  • 5) SDDC Operations Support
  • Support automation and monitoring for VMware-based SDDC components:
  • vSphere/ESXi/vCenter
  • vSAN / SAN / NAS storage basics
  • NSX‑T networking basics (segments, firewall groups)
  • Work with compute, network, storage, and security teams to implement and troubleshoot tool integrations.
  • 6) Security, Compliance & Governance
  • Support integration with secrets management tools (Vault/KMS or similar).
  • Assist with vulnerability remediations, patch automation, and compliance evidence collection.
  • Follow change management (ITIL) processes for deployments and configuration changes.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 1–5 years in SRE/DevOps/Platform/Automation or infrastructure operations roles.
  • Hands‑on experience with at least 1 of the following:
  • CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps
  • Monitoring: Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/Splunk, vROps/Aria
  • Automation: Ansible, Terraform, PowerCLI, PowerShell, Bash, Python
  • Understanding of version control (Git), branching, merging, and PR workflows.
  • Familiarity with virtualization (VMware vSphere), storage basics, and networking fundamentals (VLANs, IP addressing, firewall concepts).
  • Ability to interpret logs, metrics, and infrastructure events during troubleshooting.
  • Exposure to ITIL processes (Incident/Change) in enterprise environments.
  • Strong desire to learn SRE/DevOps tooling and automation practices.
