 Key Responsibilities  

Java Support Role and Night shift only ( 7:30 PM - 4:30 AM)

 Backend Engineering

• Design and implement REST microservices/Event Driven using Spring Boot 3 and JDK 21 features like virtual threads, HttpClient, Optional/record patterns.
• Migrate and refactor existing Spring Boot apps to JDK 21 and Spring Boot 3, including updating dependencies and cleaning up deprecated APIs.
• Implementation of Drools Rule Engine (Rule Framework)
• Implement observability features such as distributed tracing, Micrometer metrics, structured logging, health checks, and Actuator endpoints. 

Messaging and Asynchronous Systems

• Build RabbitMQ producers and consumers with retry, dead-letter, and idempotency patterns. 
• Implement Kafka event producers and consumers and offset management. 
• Design event-driven workflows and saga patterns for RabbitMQ and Kafka services. DevOps, Kubernetes, and Docker

• Write Dockerfiles and multi-stage builds optimized for Java 21. 
• Create Kubernetes manifests including Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, etc.
• Troubleshoot pod crashes, OOMKills, JVM heap issues, and networking problems in Kubernetes. 
• Set up local development stacks using Docker Compose or Kind. 

CI/CD and GitLab

• Build and maintain .gitlab-ci.yml pipelines for building, testing (unit, integration, Sonar), security scanning (SAST, dependency scan), Docker image build and push, and Kubernetes deployment. 
• Manage GitLab runners, both shared and specific, along with CI secrets and variables. 

Database and Oracle

• Design schemas, write PL/SQL procedures, optimize SQL queries, and tune indexes for Oracle. 
• Manage connection pools and configure Oracle-specific settings. 

Python

• Build lightweight microservices with FastAPI.
• Analyze logs and metrics, and carry out ad-hoc data validation. 

Architecture, Quality and Support

• Enforce code quality through SonarQube, checkstyle, spotbugs, and pull request review gates. 
• Lead incident response, root-cause analysis, and postmortems for production issues. 
• Troubleshoot production incidents by analyzing application logs, metrics, and distributed traces across Spring Boot microservices, identifying root causes and implementing permanent fixes.
• Investigate message-flow anomalies in RabbitMQ/Kafka by tracking message payloads, offsets, retry patterns, and consumer lag to ensure reliable event processing.
• Perform production issue triage for containerized workloads on Kubernetes, analyzing pod logs, crash loops, resource limits, and network policies to restore service availability.
