Position: IT Operations Server Administrator/Systems Engineer

 

Full job description

·      This position will be fully remote.

·      The IT Operations Server Administrator/Systems Engineer will support the maintenance and upkeep for our team’s growing landscape within SAP’s Internal Server Infrastructure.

·      The IT Systems Administrator/Engineer will work closely with our Operations/Systems Engineering Management and IT Support to ensure seamless operation and optimization of our organization’s IT infrastructure.

 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Work collaboratively with the business unit to ensure IT alignment with business objectives.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, workflow diagrams, and system architecture plans.
  • Have experience with database administration (specifically Microsoft SQLServer), and enterprise application integrations.
  • General understanding of SQL queries would be a plus.
  • Have extensive experience in Microsoft Windows Server system operations in a VMWare environment, including:
  • system security best practices,
  • performance monitoring/evaluation/tuning,
  • resource planning,
  • proactive vulnerability monitoring and timely security patch application.
  • Have experience supporting typical Enterprise Computing environments, including Microsoft Active Directory, ACL requests, Group Policy, Windows desktop and server OS.
  • Having working knowledge of Microsoft 365 / Entra ID / Azure Cloud Technology would be a plus.
  • Have knowledge of cloud server deployment and administration in Hyperscaler environments -- Azure, GCP, AWS
  • Have experience with automation scripting in PowerShell or an alternative scripting language.
  • Have strong knowledge of IT security best practices, backup administration, and disaster recovery (DR) planning.
  • Have excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
  • Have strong knowledge of networking concepts including VPN, DHCP, SSL, network security, and related troubleshooting.
  • Have knowledge and experience with SSL/TLS certificate deployment, including proactive expiry monitoring
