Power BI Consultant – Data Modeling & Architecture

Experience

6–10 years of overall experience with strong hands-on expertise in Power BI, data modeling, and analytics architecture.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Power BI Consultant to collaborate with our team on Power BI data modeling, architecture discussions, and the design of upcoming data models. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Power BI, data modeling, and analytics architecture. Experience in reporting on SAP data is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the team on Power BI data modeling and the design of scalable data models.
• Participate in data architecture discussions and provide recommendations on best practices.
• Design and develop data models for upcoming Power BI initiatives.
• Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics requirements.
• Review existing data models and recommend improvements for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Develop Power BI reports and dashboards based on business requirements.
• Work with SAP data sources and translate business requirements into effective reporting solutions.
• Participate in technical discussions and help define standards and best practices for Power BI development.
• Be available for periodic onsite visits, potentially once every quarter, based on project requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

• 6–10 years of overall experience in BI, analytics, or data engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI.
• Excellent understanding of Power BI data modeling and dimensional modeling concepts.
• Experience designing scalable and optimized data models.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing and analytics architecture.
• Proficiency in DAX and Power Query/M.
• Experience working with SQL and relational databases.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with onsite and offshore teams.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in reporting and analytics using SAP data.
• Familiarity with SAP data structures and extracting/transforming SAP data for Power BI reporting.
• Experience working on enterprise-scale reporting and analytics projects.

Travel & Visa Requirement

• Valid US Work Visa or Business Visa is mandatory.
• Candidate must be willing and able to travel to the US and work onsite for 4–8 weeks based on project requirements.
• Flexibility to support periodic onsite engagements, potentially on a quarterly basis, is required.
