Your work profile

The Risk management support Senior Consultant will establish and operationalize a GCC-led Supplier Risk Management (SRM) capability, responsible for enabling structured, proactive, and data-driven management of third-party risks across the procurement lifecycle. The role will support business units (BUs) by embedding end-to-end supplier risk governance, leveraging standardized frameworks, digital tools, and analytics to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate risks across financial, operational, compliance, ESG, and geopolitical dimensions.

The role will contribute to global procurement risk excellence by driving risk visibility, ensuring regulatory and policy compliance (Industry standards), and enabling informed decision-making through actionable risk intelligence across supplier engagements.

Key responsibilities for the Consultant will include:

1. Risk Identification

Perform supplier risk screening during onboarding and sourcing events

Conduct category and supplier risk profiling based on criticality, spend, and geography

Track geo-political risks and macroeconomic indicators impacting supplier base

Leverage external data sources and tools for risk intelligence gathering

2. Risk Assessment

Conduct financial risk analysis using supplier financial statements and risk scores

Perform ESG risk assessments aligned with sustainability and regulatory requirements

Evaluate operational risks, including supply continuity, capacity, and dependency risks

Support risk scoring models and classification of suppliers into risk tiers

3. Risk Monitoring

Drive continuous risk tracking for critical and high-risk suppliers

Monitor alerts, triggers, and early warning signals from risk platforms

Track and manage supplier risk incidents, ensuring timely identification and response

Maintain risk dashboards and reporting cadence for stakeholders

4. Risk Mitigation

Identify and support alternate supplier strategies to reduce concentration risk

Develop and track risk mitigation and contingency plans for high-risk suppliers

Drive mitigation action tracking and closure within deadlines

Manage risk escalation processes and governance forums for critical issues

5. Governance, Compliance & Reporting

Ensure adherence to global procurement policies, Industry compliance standards, and regulatory requirements

Maintain audit-ready documentation for all supplier risk activities

Identify and flag risk exposure, compliance gaps, and process deviations

Develop and publish risk dashboards and KPI reports (coverage, cycle time, incident response, etc.)

Enable leadership decision-making through risk insights and trend analysis

6. Digital Enablement & Continuous Improvement

Leverage supplier risk management tools and automation platforms

Support implementation of standardized risk workflows and integrated systems

Drive process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives

Identify opportunities to improve risk assessment cycle time, coverage, and data accuracy


Key Objectives

  • Establish a centralized supplier risk management framework across BUs aligned to enterprise / industry standards
  • Embed risk evaluation checkpoints across the supplier lifecycle (onboarding, performance, renewal, exit)
  • Enable proactive risk identification, assessment, and mitigation across supplier base
  • Drive risk visibility and governance, including escalation, reporting, and compliance
  • Develop a performance management framework for supplier risk, including KPIs/SLAs
  • Enable leadership with data-driven insights on supplier risk exposure, trends, and mitigation effectiveness

  • Supplier risk lifecycle is fully governed, standardized, and embedded across procurement
  • High visibility into supplier risk exposure across multiple dimensions
  • Critical suppliers are proactively monitored, with early warning systems/triggers in place
  • Mitigation actions are tracked and executed effectively
  • Strong compliance with Industry, regulatory and internal risk frameworks
  • Risk data is accurate, complete, and audit-ready across systems
  • Timely incident response and robust escalation mechanisms are operational
  • Sustainable process adoption and behavioral change across BUs on risk accountability

 

Skills & Competencies

Functional

  • Strong understanding of procurement operations and tail spend frameworks
  • Supplier segmentation and governance expertise
  • Financial controls and compliance knowledge
  • Experience with spend classification & data cleansing

Analytical & Tools

  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP/Ariba/Coupa preferred)
  •  Data analytics tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau)
  • Ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Familiarity with predictive spend intelligence models

Stakeholder Management

  • Experience working across global stakeholders and multiple BUs
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • GCC/Procurement CoE empowering Business Units experience

Key skills required

  • Global Pharmaceutical, MedTech, or Consumer Goods (FMCG/CPG) organizations

  • Exposure to regulated environments (compliance-heavy industries)
  • Understanding of supplier risk frameworks, regulatory requirements, and audit processes

Technical Exposure

  • ERP systems: SAP, Oracle
  • Risk platforms: Supplier risk tools (e.g. Aravo, ProcessUnity, etc.)
  • Analytics tools: Excel, Power BI, Tableau
  • Familiarity with ESG data platforms, third-party risk databases, and AI-driven risk tools

Qualifications

·      ~5–8 years of relevant experience in supplier risk management, procurement risk, or third-party risk management

·      Strong exposure to global procurement environments (MedTech, Pharma, FMCG/CPG)

·      Proven experience in supplier risk lifecycle processes (risk identification, assessment, monitoring, mitigation)

·      Experience working within CoE/shared services operating models across multiple geos

·      Familiarity with risk frameworks, compliance requirements, and governance models

·      Key Stakeholders:

•        BU procurement teams / Category Teams

•        Risk, Legal, Finance, and Compliance/Regulatory teams

•        Supplier relationship managers

•        Business stakeholders involved in Risk reviews / External auditors

·      Bachelor’s degree (B. Com / BBA / BMS/ B. Tech or equivalent)

·      MBA / master’s degree (preferred)

·      Certifications (preferred): CIPS, CPSM, CRISC, FRM, or equivalent risk certifications
