Job Description – SAP BTP Senior Consultant (Deloitte)

Role Summary

The SAP BTP Senior Consultant will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering scalable cloud solutions using SAP Business Technology Platform. The role involves advising clients on modernization, integration architecture, application development, and intelligent automation using BTP services such as CAP, BAS, CPI, API Management, Workflow Management, UI5/Fiori, Event Mesh, and SAC. The consultant will lead team delivery, architect cloud components, drive client workshops, and support end-to-end project life cycles from discovery to production deployment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Solution Architecture & Technical Design

• Lead BTP solutioning for integration, extension, automation, and data-to-value use cases.
• Architect cloud-native solutions using CAP/Node/Java, HANA Cloud, Event-Driven Architecture.
• Design and implement multi-tenant scalable applications, APIs, security model & authorization concepts.
• Develop technical blueprint, architecture artefacts & deployment frameworks for client engagements.

2. Integration & Extension on BTP

• Implement SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) for S/4, ECC, SuccessFactors, Ariba, Concur, CX & non-SAP landscapes.
• Build API-based connectivity using SAP API Management, Open Connectors, OData/REST services.
• Develop Fiori/UI5 apps, mobile solutions, side-by-side extensions & RAP/CAP application layers on BTP.
• Enable workflow automation using Workflow Management, Business Rules, Process Automation.

3. Project Delivery & Leadership

• Lead requirement workshops, fit-gap analysis, sprint planning and agile development cycles.
• Prepare technical specs, review development code quality & ensure best practice compliance.
• Mentor junior consultants, oversee build phase & support UAT, cutover, go-live & hypercare.
• Collaborate closely with functional teams across FI/CO, MM/SD, HR, Procurement & Analytics workstreams.

4. Data, Analytics & Security

• Implement SAP HANA Cloud modeling, calculation views, data provisioning & performance tuning.
• Integrate BTP with SAP Analytics Cloud, Data Sphere, and BW/4HANA for planning & reporting.
• Apply enterprise security: OAuth, IAS/IPS, roles & trust configuration, audit & governance.

5. Innovation & Thought Leadership

• Evaluate emerging BTP services, automation frameworks, generative AI enablement & extensibility patterns.
• Contribute reusable accelerators, solution templates, and Deloitte asset library enrichment.
• Participate in presales, RFP responses, effort estimation & solution proposal creation.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8–14+ years of experience in SAP with 4–8+ years in SAP BTP development & architecture.
• Hands-on experience with CPI, API Management, BTP Extensions (CAP/RAP/UI5), HANA Cloud.
• Strong understanding of authentication, security, DevOps CI/CD, Git, Cloud Foundry & Kyma runtime.
• Experience in 2+ E2E SAP BTP implementation projects (preferably large-scale/global).
• Strong communication and client-facing consulting experience is a must.

Preferred Qualifications

• BTP certification(s) – Integration Suite / BTP Extension Developer / Security.
• Experience with eventing (Event Mesh, Kafka), AI/ML on BTP, or Greenfield S/4 transformations.
• Past experience in consulting organizations like Deloitte/Accenture/IBM (desired but not mandatory).
