Your work profile
· Lead design, development, and optimization of ServiceNow ITOM Discovery and CMDB solutions across enterprise environments.
· Configure and manage Horizontal Discovery, Cloud Discovery, and MID Servers to ensure accurate infrastructure visibility and CI population.
· Develop and enhance custom discovery patterns, probes, and sensors for servers, network devices, cloud resources, databases, and applications.
· Analyze discovery issues including stale CIs, credential failures, port access issues, and never-scanned devices, and drive root cause resolution.
· Ensure CMDB data quality by implementing IRE rules, reconciliation logic, CI relationships, and CMDB health best practices.
· Collaborate with infrastructure, network, cloud, and application teams to gather discovery requirements and define CI mapping standards.
· Support Service Mapping and dependency mapping to establish accurate business service visibility.
· Develop integrations with external monitoring and infrastructure tools using REST APIs, web services, and Service Graph Connectors.
· Participate in UAT, defect resolution, production deployment, and post-go-live support for ITOM implementations.
· Drive end-to-end documentation including technical specifications, discovery schedules, IP ranges, credential setup, and knowledge transfer.
Key skills required
· 5-8 of hands-on experience as a ServiceNow Developer with strong focus on ITOM Discovery, CMDB, and Service Mapping.
· Strong experience in ServiceNow Discovery, MID Server configuration, patterns, probes, and sensors.
· Experience in troubleshooting discovery failures, including SNMP, SSH, WMI, PowerShell, and credential-related issues.
· Strong knowledge of infrastructure technologies including:
o Windows & Linux Servers
o Network devices
o Databases
o Cloud platforms (AWS / Azure)
o DNS, TCP/IP, SNMP, SSH, WMI
· Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide scripting, Flow Designer, and ServiceNow integrations.
· Experience working with Agile delivery methods and tools (Jira, Confluence).
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.
· Good understanding of ITIL, CSDM, and CMDB governance best practices.
· Preferred certifications:
o CSA
o CIS – Discovery
