The Team strategic growth team serves as a central pillar driving growth and transformation within Deloitte, spanning several business lines and various technology functions.  We are established as a centralized team collaborating across consulting, implementation, and operation to maintain and enhance client value offerings and services. In this team, our focus is on catering to the unique needs and preferences of clients in the South Asia region. Your role within this dynamic team is essential for establishing networks and relationships across the client stakeholder ecosystem and ensuring service fulfillment. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with other Deloitte leadership and stakeholders dedicated to the client. Your contributions will involve nurturing new and existing relationships, supporting presales life cycles, and playing a pivotal role in driving the success of Deloitte business growth for the specific client.

Your work profile

 

As an ELK Stack Architect, you will be the technical authority responsible for envisioning, designing, and leading PB-scale Elasticsearch solutions. This role demands ownership across architecture, governance, scalability, and performance of ELK ecosystems running 100s of pipelines and managing multi-PB datasets. You will work closely with leadership, infra, and product teams to define roadmaps, migrate workloads from on-prem to cloud, implement hybrid strategies, and ensure the platform is secure, resilient, and future-proof.

The candidate must be visionary + hands-on: capable of driving architectural decisions, while also diving deep to debug cluster-level issues.

 

Experience

 

10+ years overall in IT/Data Engineering/Infra, with 8+ years in ELK Stack and distributed systems.
 Proven experience architecting PB-scale clusters, high-availability designs, and hybrid-cloud migrations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Architecture & Strategy

  • Own end-to-end ELK architecture for PB-scale clusters: Hot/Warm/Cold/Frozen tiering, ILM, CCR, cross-cluster search/replication.
  • Design ingestion architecture with Logstash, Beats, Kafka, Redis, JDBC, and custom connectors.
  • Define and enforce multi-tenant strategies: Kibana Spaces, index naming conventions, RBAC.
  • Lead on-prem → cloud and hybrid cloud migrations, designing DR, snapshot, and multi-region strategies.
  • Set roadmap for upgrades, feature adoption (Elastic ML, APM, Security plugins), and cost/performance optimization.

Governance & Security

  • Implement enterprise-grade security: X-Pack, LDAP/SAML, TLS, RBAC, audit logging.
  • Define compliance standards, data retention policies, and access controls for regulated environments.
  • Establish monitoring, governance dashboards, SLA metrics, and alerting frameworks.

Performance & Reliability

  • Architect high-throughput ingestion and 100+ parallel pipelines at multi-TB/day scale.
  • Tune clusters for query/indexing performance: shard strategy, routing, segment merging, JVM tuning, and disk/network optimization.
  • Define load balancing & HA strategies across coordinating, master, and data nodes.
  • Lead capacity planning and cost optimization across storage, compute, and network.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Partner with product owners, data engineers, and business leaders to capture end-user requirements and translate them into scalable architectures.
  • Mentor engineers, set coding/infra standards, and enforce DevOps/CI-CD best practices.
  • Drive incident management, RCA, and future-proofing strategies for production reliability.
  • Influence vendor discussions (Elastic, cloud providers, hardware teams) on scaling & support.

Technical Skills (Must-Have — Architect Level)

  • Elasticsearch: Query DSL, templates, data streams, ILM, CCR, snapshots, shard management.
  • Pipelines: Logstash, Beats (Filebeat/Metricbeat/Auditbeat), Kafka/Redis/JDBC ingestion, ingest pipelines.
  • Visualization: Kibana Spaces, Data Views, dashboards, Canvas, alerting, reporting.
  • Security: X-Pack, LDAP/SAML, TLS, RBAC, audit logging, compliance frameworks.
  • Infra & DevOps: Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, Terraform/Ansible/Puppet, CI/CD pipelines.
  • Cloud/Hybrid: AWS OpenSearch/Elastic Cloud, Azure Elastic, GCP integrations; migration playbooks.
  • Performance & Debugging: JVM tuning, Linux internals, disk I/O, HBA/storage, network stack, GC, cluster state recovery.
  • Ecosystem: Integrating DBs, APIs, custom apps; working knowledge of monitoring (Grafana/Prometheus/Elastic-native).

 

Desired qualifications

 

  • Elastic Certified Architect / Engineer.
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related.
  • Experience leading global-scale Elastic clusters (300+ nodes, PBs of data).
  • Exposure to SIEM/APM and advanced ML plugins for predictive analytics.
