The role of a Senior Consultant OMS Business Analyst is a client-facing position that blends core consulting skills with specialized expertise in Order Management Systems (OMS) and related supply chain/omn-ichannel processes. The primary responsibility is to analyze a client's business needs and translate them into functional solutions, ensuring the effective implementation of OMS platforms like IBM Sterling, Manhattan Active Omni
Key Responsibilities
- Requirements Analysis: Lead discovery sessions and conduct workshops with client stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather, analyze, and document complex business requirements.
- Process Design & Improvement: Perform gap analysis, map "as-is" processes, and design "to-be" process flows. Recommend solutions to optimize operations, especially concerning order orchestration, inventory visibility, fulfillment, and returns management.
- Solution Liaison: Act as the critical interface between business users and technical delivery teams (developers, architects, testers), ensuring requirements are clearly understood and implemented according to the defined scope.
- Documentation & Deliverables: Prepare detailed business requirements documents (BRDs), functional requirements documents (FRDs), process flows, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Testing & Deployment Support: Assist in the preparation of test cases, coordinate and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT), training plans, and provide post-go-live support to ensure successful implementation.
- Consulting & Advisory: Advise clients on industry best practices and leverage expertise in specific platforms (e.g., IBM Sterling, Salesforce OMS) to help them increase revenue and streamline supply chain operations.
- Project Management Support: Lead or contribute to consulting engagements, managing timelines, tracking issues, and ensuring seamless collaboration across cross-functional and potentially global teams.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Typically requires 5+ years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst or Senior Consultant in an OMS implementation or technical advisory role.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep functional understanding of OMS platforms and familiarity with related enterprise systems such as Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), CRM, or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
- Domain Expertise: Strong knowledge of the retail, e-commerce, or utilities sector supply chain and operational workflows.
- Core Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong command over business process design.
- Proficiency in tools like JIRA, Confluence, and process-modeling tools (BPMN or equivalent).
- Ability to work independently, manage stakeholders, and mentor junior team members.
