Job Title: Senior Consultant | Techno functional consultant | Bengaluru | Technology Strategy & Transformation
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced OMS Functional Consultant to drive functional design, business requirement translation, and solution configuration for Order Management Systems in an omni-channel environment. This role bridges business and technology, ensuring effective implementation of OMS capabilities aligned with customer and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Requirement & Functional Design
- Engage with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document order management requirements
- Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications and user stories
- Define end-to-end order lifecycle flows including order capture, orchestration, fulfillment, and returns
2. OMS Configuration & Implementation Support
- Configure and support OMS solutions (e.g., IBM Sterling OMS, Manhattan OMS) based on business requirements
- Support rule configuration for sourcing, allocation, ATP/CTP, and fulfillment logic
- Work closely with technical teams to ensure accurate implementation
3. Process Design & Optimization
- Map current (As-Is) and future (To-Be) order management processes
- Identify gaps and recommend process improvements for better efficiency and customer experience
- Support design of omnichannel capabilities like BOPIS (Buy Online, Pick Up In Store), ship-from-store, and returns
4. Testing & Quality Assurance
- Define test scenarios, prepare test cases, and support SIT/UAT cycles
- Validate OMS functionality against business requirements
- Coordinate defect resolution with technical teams
5. Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as a liaison between business users, product owners, and development teams
- Facilitate workshops, demos, and requirement walkthroughs
- Provide regular updates on progress, risks, and dependencies
Required Skills & Experience
Core Experience
- 6–9 years of experience in Order Management / Supply Chain / E-commerce domain
- Hands-on functional experience with OMS platforms (e.g., IBM Sterling OMS, Manhattan OMS)
- Strong understanding of order lifecycle, inventory visibility, and fulfillment processes
Functional Skills
- Expertise in requirement gathering, BRD/FRD creation, and process mapping
- Knowledge of key OMS concepts: sourcing, ATP/CTP, backorder handling, split shipments, returns
- Familiarity with omnichannel retail use cases
Technical Awareness
- Basic understanding of APIs, integrations, and data flows
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Exposure to tools like JIRA, Confluence
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in retail, CPG, or e-commerce industries
- Prior consulting experience in a client-facing role
- Certification in OMS platforms (preferred but not mandatory)
