The team works on large-scale transformation programs, enterprise operations, and critical infrastructure support across production environments.

Your work profile

• Administer and support IBM AIX servers across production and non-production environments.
• Perform installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and migration activities for AIX systems.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity to ensure stable operations.
• Manage user administration, file systems, Logical Volume Manager (LVM), and storage allocation.
• Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for OS, hardware, and application-related incidents.
• Support backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and server hardening activities.
• Coordinate with application, database, storage, backup, and network teams for issue resolution.
• Perform preventive maintenance, health checks, and compliance remediation activities.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and operational procedures.
• Participate in on-call support and incident management processes.

Key skills required:

• Strong hands-on experience in IBM AIX Administration
• Experience with LPARs and VIOS
• Knowledge of PowerHA / HACMP clustering
• Experience in NIM server administration
• Strong understanding of Logical Volume Manager (LVM)
• Shell scripting knowledge
• Experience in system monitoring and performance tuning
• Experience with patching, firmware upgrades, and OS migrations
• Understanding of SAN storage concepts and backup tools
• Familiarity with virtualization and IBM Power Systems infrastructure
• Basic Linux administration knowledge preferred
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and ticketing tools is an advantage

Role Overview

The IBM AIX Administrator will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise AIX infrastructure environments. The role involves ensuring system stability, performance optimization, security compliance, and operational continuity across critical infrastructure systems. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to support enterprise production environments and resolve infrastructure-related incidents efficiently.

Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• Education0 Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 4–5 years of relevant experience in IBM AIX Administration and infrastructure support
• IBM AIX certification is an added advantage
