The Deloitte South Asia strategic growth team serves as a central pillar driving growth and transformation within DSA, spanning several business lines and various technology functions. We are established as a centralized team collaborating across consulting, implementation, and operation to maintain and enhance client value offerings and services. We innovate conventional approaches, leveraging Deloitte technology, differentiated domain expertise, intellectual property, talent, and capacity to embed continuous advantage and deliver enhanced business value.
In this team, our focus is on catering to the unique needs and preferences of clients in the South Asia region. Your role within this dynamic team is essential for establishing networks and relationships across the client stakeholder ecosystem and ensuring service fulfillment. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with other Deloitte leadership and stakeholders dedicated to the client. Your contributions will involve nurturing new and existing relationships, supporting presales life cycles, and playing a pivotal role in driving the success of DSA business growth for the specific client.

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Unix Administrator – Senior Consultant to support, manage, and optimize enterprise Linux/Unix environments across on-premises data centers and hybrid infrastructures. This role requires strong hands-on expertise with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Ubuntu Server, Linux clustering technologies, and advanced troubleshooting skills. The Senior Consultant will provide L2/L3 technical support, drive operational excellence, ensure platform stability, and contribute to automation and modernization initiatives within the Unix/Linux tower. Key Responsibilities UNIX, Red Hat HA, SUSE HA, Red Hat Clustering, Veritas Clustering, Apache Unix/Linux Server Administration
• Perform installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Ubuntu Server environments.
• Conduct OS patching, kernel updates, security hardening, performance tuning, and lifecycle management.
• Manage logical volumes (LVM), file systems, RAID configurations, and storage integrations. Clustering & High Availability
• Implement, configure, and support Linux clustering technologies, such as: o Red Hat Cluster Suite (Pacemaker/Corosync) o HAProxy / Keepalived o DRBD, fencing agents, failover resources
•Perform cluster validation, failover testing, quorum configuration, and cluster performance diagnostics.
• Troubleshoot cluster failures, split-brain issues, node communication problems, and HA resource constraints. Scripting, Automation & Tools
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell/Bash, Python, and Ansible.
• Automate routine tasks such as patching, configuration deployment, monitoring, and health audits.
• Work with configuration management and orchestration tools (Ansible, Puppet, SaltStack preferred). Networking & Security
• Manage Linux network configurations including bonding, VLANs, routing, DNS configurations, and firewall rules (firewalld/iptables).
• Implement OS-level security best practices, SELinux policies (enforcing/permissive), and vulnerability remediation.
• Support authentication integrations with LDAP/AD/Samba/Kerberos. Monitoring, Troubleshooting & Operations
• Monitor system health, performance, logs, and hardware components using tools like Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, or Red Hat Insights.
• Handle L2/L3 escalations for OS performance issues, application failures, kernel panics, f ilesystem corruption, and networking defects.
• Provide root-cause analysis (RCA), incident resolution, and support planned maintenance activities. Documentation & Collaboration
• Maintain accurate SOPs, topology documentation, server inventories, and configuration guides.
• Collaborate with middleware, database, storage, network, and security teams for cross functional troubleshooting.
• Participate in DR drills, compliance audits, and capacity planning exercises. Required Skills
• Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Ubuntu Server in enterprise environments.
• Expertise in Linux clustering technologies (Pacemaker/Corosync, HAProxy, Keepalived, etc.).
• Proficiency with Shell/Bash scripting, and familiarity with Ansible automation.
• Strong understanding of Linux internals: processes, memory, storage, networking, and kernel-level troubleshooting.
• Experience with LVM, filesystems (ext4, XFS), permissions, SELinux, systemd, a
nd performance analysis tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware, OS, networking, and storage-related issues in a multi-tier environment. Experience
• 8+ years of experience in Unix/Linux system administration.
• Hands-on experience with clustering and HA implementations in production.
• Exposure to virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V/KVM) and cloud basics is an advantage.
• Familiarity with ITIL practices (Incident, Change, Problem). Good to have
• Certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, Linux Foundation Certified Engineer (LFCE), or equivalent.
• Experience with containerization (Docker/Podman) and orchestration (Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Experience in managed services or large enterprise IT operations.
