The Deloitte South Asia strategic growth team serves as a central pillar driving growth and transformation within DSA, spanning several business lines and various technology functions.  We are established as a centralized team collaborating across consulting, implementation, and operation to maintain and enhance client value offerings and services. We innovate conventional approaches, leveraging Deloitte technology, differentiated domain expertise, intellectual property, talent, and capacity to embed continuous advantage and deliver enhanced business value.

In this team, our focus is on catering to the unique needs and preferences of clients in the South Asia region. Your role within this dynamic team is essential for establishing networks and relationships across the client stakeholder ecosystem and ensuring service fulfillment. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with other Deloitte leadership and stakeholders dedicated to the client. Your contributions will involve nurturing new and existing relationships, supporting presales life cycles, and playing a pivotal role in driving the success of DSA business growth for the specific client.

Your work profile

 We are looking for a highly skilled Windows Engineer with strong experience managing Windows Server platforms in a Software‑Defined Data Center (SDDC) environment. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of Active Directory, VMware vSphere, automation, patching, backup/DR, and secure enterprise operations. This role focuses on day‑to‑day operations, incident resolution, platform optimization, automation, and governance across hybrid/SDDC workloads.

Key Responsibilities

Windows Platform Operations

  • Manage, configure, and troubleshoot Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022 in virtualized SDDC environments.
  • Handle OS hardening, patching, performance tuning, and lifecycle management.
  • Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Certificate Services.
  • Support enterprise authentication & security integrations (Kerberos, LDAP, PKI, MFA solutions).
  • Manage clustering (Failover Clustering, Always‑On features if applicable).

SDDC / Virtualization

  • Operate Windows workloads running on VMware vSphere ESXi/vCenter.
  • Perform VM provisioning, resource allocation, performance troubleshooting, templates, snapshots, and host migrations.
  • Collaborate with SDDC teams to support platforms such as vSAN, NSX‑T, and VCF.

Storage, Backup & DR

  • Work with storage teams on SAN/NAS/vSAN integrations for Windows servers.
  • Manage and validate application‑aware backups using Veeam/Commvault/Rubrik/Cohesity.
  • Support DR planning, failover, and recovery using SRM/HCX (if applicable) and restore testing.

Security, Compliance & Governance

  • Implement OS hardening (CIS/industry benchmarks).
  • Patch and remediate vulnerabilities, tracking CVEs and security advisories.
  • Implement and manage RBAC, auditing, and least‑privilege access.
  • Ensure logs, configurations, and events are integrated with SIEM tools.

Automation & Observability

  • Automate tasks using PowerShell, PowerCLI, Ansible, or Terraform (if applicable).
  • Maintain monitoring & alerting through tools like vROps, SCOM, Nagios, Grafana, Elastic, or equivalents.
  • Create runbooks, SOPs, architecture diagrams, and KB documentation.

Operations Excellence

  • Provide strong L2/L3 operational support for Windows systems.
  • Participate in on‑call/rotational support for critical systems.
  • Execute incident/problem/change management aligned to ITIL.
  • Work collaboratively with networking, security, storage, virtualization, and application teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 6–8 years of hands‑on experience in enterprise Windows Server administration.
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy
  • Windows patching & vulnerability remediation
  • PowerShell scripting
  • Server performance troubleshooting
  • Solid experience operating Windows workloads in VMware SDDC:
  • vSphere clusters, HA/DRS
  • Templates, snapshots, VM migrations
  • Integration with vSAN/SAN/NAS
  • Experience with enterprise backup platforms:
  • Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik, or Cohesity
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and enterprise operations.
  • Understanding of networking basics (VLANs, routing, firewall rules) as they relate to Windows servers.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment spanning on‑prem SDDC and cloud workloads.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Exposure to NSX‑T, Nutanix AHV, or HCI platforms.
  • Experience with Azure AD, Intune, SCCM/MECM, or Tanium.
  • Scripting/automation (PowerShell DSC, PowerCLI, Ansible).
  • Experience with SQL Server administration basics.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust, EDR, and compliance tools.

 

Educational qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • Base location: Bangalore
  • This profile involves frequent travelling to client locations
