Your work profile

• Lead and execute end-to-end database migration projects from on-premises SQL Server environments to Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, or SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines.
• Perform database assessments, dependency analysis, migration planning, and readiness evaluations.
• Design and implement migration strategies using Azure migration tools such as Azure Database Migration Service (DMS), Data Migration Assistant (DMA), and native SQL Server migration methodologies.
• Manage database administration activities including backup and recovery, performance tuning, monitoring, security, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure data integrity, availability, and optimal performance throughout the migration lifecycle.
• Develop migration runbooks, technical documentation, and post-migration validation procedures.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and business teams to ensure successful migration execution.
• Identify migration risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize downtime and operational impact.
• Support post-migration optimization and performance tuning activities in Azure environments.

  Key skills required: 

• Education Any Bachelor’s/Master’s
• 6+ years of experience in SQL Server Database Administration and Azure SQL migration projects.
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server.
• Proven experience in managing end-to-end database migration engagements.
• Expertise in database performance tuning, indexing, query optimization, backup, recovery, and high availability solutions.
• Experience with Azure Database Migration Service (DMS), Data Migration Assistant (DMA), and related migration tools.
• Strong understanding of Azure networking, security, monitoring, and governance concepts related to database services.
• Experience in migration assessment, planning, execution, testing, and production cutover activities.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
