Role Summary

We are looking for a highly experienced Principal Full‑Stack Software Engineer (P4) to lead the design, development, and evolution of enterprise-scale AI‑adjacent platforms at RTX. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in building secure, scalable, and cloud‑native systems, with the ability to influence long‑term platform architecture, mentor engineering teams, and drive innovation while navigating complex operational and regulatory environments.

This role spans full‑stack engineering, cloud architecture, API platform development, and technical leadership across distributed teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and long-term evolution of enterprise-scale full‑stack platforms and shared services.

• Own and advance critical platform components, including API platforms, edge services, and developer tooling.

• Define and champion engineering, DevOps, security, and automation standards across teams.

• Drive cloud‑native architectures and solution designs on AWS and Azure.

• Establish scalable patterns for CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and observability.

• Guide integration of AI-enabled capabilities into enterprise platforms (e.g., LLM services, governance, monitoring).

• Collaborate with product, security, and architecture leaders to ensure platform alignment with business and compliance goals.

• Provide mentorship and technical leadership to senior engineers in India and the US.

• Enable rapid experimentation while ensuring reliability, compliance, and operational excellence.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 7+ years of professional engineering experience (or 5+ years with an advanced degree).

• Proven track record designing and delivering enterprise‑scale full‑stack systems.

• Deep expertise in modern frontend frameworks and backend service architectures.

• Strong hands‑on experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud architectures.

• Demonstrated ability to design scalable APIs, shared platform services, and developer platforms.

• Strong background in DevOps, CI/CD automation, and infrastructure-as-code.

• Ability to operate effectively within security‑conscious, compliance‑driven environments.

Good to Have

• Experience building or maintaining platforms, internal developer portals, or shared tooling.

• Deep understanding of secure-by-design principles for enterprise systems.

• Hands‑on experience with AI-enabled platforms or pipelines (e.g., RAG, LLMs, NLP workflows, agent-based systems).

• Ability to influence long-term technical strategy across organizational boundaries.

• Experience operating as a senior technical leader in distributed engineering environments.
